Why doesn't anyone know about the UN thing?
by Comatose ini can't fathom it.
if i asked anyone in the last couple halls i've been in they wouldn't know.
it would seem to me that news like that would race around a circuit and spread like wildfire over the country.

Suspicious: Any links would be helpful though.
Here's a link to the follow up article to the one MrsJones posted above:

Simon, I was making an observation.
Not sure why you're so angry. Sounds like you're having a bad day?
I have no idea what inspired you to create this thread in the first place. Probably you have a good reason. You obviously deleted the thread that inspired this one, so who knows what all that was about.
That being said, I really don't appreciate being lumped in with some unnamed group which you describe as " what some want to promote," merely for expressing an opinion on the challenges of moderating a forum such as this. You clearly misunderstood my intent.
Did you not read my comment in the same post that "I think the moderators here do a great job"?
I resent your implication by association that I am part of the group that is guilty of " posting childish spammy crap " and "" filth or shocking content" by quoting my comment with your recent post.
I most certainly have never posted anything remotely like what you described in your last post. Linking my comment with your rant was not cool.

My mom calls me and makes demands. I respond, "Good morning, mom! How are you?"
Refuse to engage in their insanity.
It's their game. You play, you lose.
Sometimes the best answer is the one that isn't said.

Jehovah's sensitive ... he wants us to understand that ... he's a father of tender mercies, tender compassion ... humans--when they're mangled--look like a hot dog on a grill.

Any fellow writer's or copyright lawyer's on here?
by Newly Enlightened ini've run into a problem and have some questions..... i'm sure most of you have seen the video on jwstruggle's youtube channel regarding my book i wrote in 2002 and the problem with the elders on getting it published.
well after my contract ran out in 2003, i retained all the rights and they told me that all left over copies would be destroyed except the few legal copies being sold on amazon, barnes & noble, alibris, etc.. so, because of the video someone asked about my book and i said that it was no longer available, they wrote back and told me it's all over the internet.. come to find out, a large canadian publisher bought out my original publisher in 2007 and 'accidently' downloaded the original file onto their computers and started selling my book [hard copies & digital] without a contract.. my question is, anyone know what the going asking price for a quiet settlement is for this type of thing?.
i know i'm not dan brown or clive cussler and probably won't get millions, but i don't want to get short-changed either.. thanks.

You have the right to demand an accounting. Don't let them tell you otherwise.
I had an issue with one of my publishers that failed to account. Fortunately I knew it was enough to justify hiring an attorney. Still, I hated having to pay a few thousand dollars to an attorney just to bully my recalcitrant publisher because they weren't doing their job.
When I finally got my royalty checks it was worth it. It took several years and a lot of sleepless nights.

It all depends on whether they sold 4 copies or 400,000.

WT letter advises JWs not to edit Wikipedia articles on JW subjects
by cabasilas inapparently, the watchtower society has recently issued formal advice that individual witnesses should not edit jw articles on wikipedia.
i occasionally edit some of the jw articles on wikipedia.
a couple of days ago i noticed a comment from one of the most respected jw editors to another jw editor on his personal talk page mentioning a letter from the wt society about editing on wikipedia.

AnnOMaly: There is nothing in the U.S. BOE indexes referring to any formal counsel about editing Wikipedia (or similar) articles about JWs.
I recall it being a more vague directive in the Kingdom Ministry. Wikipedia wasn't specifically named, but I certainly understood that was the message as well as similar sites.

Do they even know who the GB are?
by punkofnice ini was talking to my jw daughter the other day and she surprisingly asked me what i believe now.
i stated i am now atheist and my reasons.
among other things she asked 'what is the purpose of life, then?
-

Punk: She replied she doesn't even know who the GB are so it's silly to think she gives the GB power and money.
That's scary.
What does she think happens with all those contributions? Who controls it?
It most certainly isn't up in Heaven with Jehovah or Jesus!
