FTB: Buy some wine and rent her favorite movies to make Friday 'our night'?
I like this plan!
out of the blue, my wife told me that after this week's service meeting on friday (co visit) she is not going to anymore meetings during the week at night.
only sunday (am) meetings.
she explained that it is difficult and not safe for her to drive after dark (vision issues: i have the same problem so i couldn't help her if i wanted to).

hi everyone, im begining to notice patterns of mental issues in the congregations and among the witnesses as a group.
do you think this is a trend in the entire world or is it exagerated in this organization?.
.
Enzo, are you going to answer my direct question? What "manipulated information" do you believe I presented?
What is your justification for believing any of the data I posted has been manipulated? Please provide proof for this assertion.
ok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.
blondie: I have heard of the meetings compared to the five fingers on our hand...which one can you do without.
In situations like this with the WTBTS, here's the one we all really need:

purrpurr: OK so aparently there was this young girl ...
I've heard this bullshit story for years. There is absolutely no proof it is true.
Like so many WT/JW "stories" they are always 3rd+ hand. No one ever saw it first hand.
It's really not much different from stories that start, "Once upon a time ..."
What kind of father would mutilate his daughter like this? What kind of religion would tell a messed up story like this as if it proved anything good?
Let's review: It's a cult!
my wife and i are finally free of this horrible cult we will be leaving the south east for the north western part of the us to start anew!!!
our friends and family have no idea of our new beliefs and feelings on the cult so it should be a nice clean break!
hope to connect with some in that area pm me if you'd like.. .
Congratulations and welcome to the rest of your life!

Enzo: And by the way if my post are incomprehensible for you, than it is not a great efford, to ask for more clarification
You have a long history of not answering direct questions. This goes back to the thread you started about Steven Hassan.
Enzo: you are from the same category of Cedars.. like to criticize, but don't like to be criticised
Uh, what are you doing right now? And what's with the comparison to Cedars? He hasn't posted here in like a year and you only just joined less than 2 months ago. Comments like that are why some people here think you're a troll.
Enzo: when manipulated information is presented...and that's the case of your opinions presented here about Religion being the dominant factor why JW's has PD's..
So which is it? "Manipulated information" or my opinion? And if you believe the information I posted from WHO, the NIMH, the researchers Jacobi Wittchen and Alonso Angermeyer are alll "manipulated," what is your evidence? That's a pretty grand conspiracy theory you're painting there!
Finally, you are completey off your rocker when you make statements misconstruing my words. I never said that religion was the "dominant factor" concerning JWs and mental illness. I still can't figure out if your an annoying troll or just have trouble understanding English.
Also, I never used the term PD or personality disorder. You introduced it into our discussion. I cited the NIMH's date which used the term "any mental illness." They are different. If you don't or can't understand that then further dialog with you is pointless.
i could find another thread so i thought i might add a few comments here - not a full critique though.
"hear jehovah's voice wherever you are".

88JM: Yes - because a night at home spent beating your bongosis so much better than a nice evening out with a good looking workmate who actually might be interested to get to know you personally.
You made me laugh!
Nothin' like beating your bongos to keep you safe from Satan's world.
BTW, the guy's playing a conga.

Enzo: Oubliette: your gues was wrong: PS means Psychiatric orders
I had to guess because you didn't say.
You're really a piece of work.
Most of your last post is completely incomprehensible.
Get a clue!
two brothers doing the territory stopped in at my place.
i kept them on the step.
after some hellos and catching up, i said so you folks are on tv now.
WWW: However, my real point is: this summer the GB has given all faders ‘a gift on a silver platter’. An easy to explain, non-doctrinal, impossible- to- disfellowship reason for leaving JW’s. A deep discomfort with the “worldly” direction the organisation is headed
Well said!
I'm gonna' use it!

The WMH surveys are representative community surveys in 28 countries throughout the world aimed at providing information to mental health policy makers about the prevalence, distribution, burden, and unmet need for treatment of common mental disorders.
The first 17 WMH surveys show that mental disorders are commonly occurring in all participating countries. The inter-quartile range (IQR: 25 th –75 th percentiles) of lifetime DSM-IV disorder prevalence estimates (combining anxiety, mood, externalizing, and substance use disorders) is 18.1–36.1%. The IQR of 12-month prevalence estimates is 9.8–19.1%. Prevalence estimates of 12-month Serious Mental Illness (SMI) are 4–6.8% in half the countries, 2.3–3.6% in one-fourth, and 0.8–1.9% in one-fourth. Many mental disorders begin in childhood-adolescence and have significant adverse effects on subsequent role transitions in the WMH data. Adult mental disorders are found to be associated with such high role impairment in the WMH data that available clinical interventions could have positive cost-effectiveness ratios.
Mental disorders are commonly occurring and often seriously impairing in many countries throughout the world. Expansion of treatment could be cost-effective both from both employer and societal perspectives.
