by abiather inthe innocent civilians being attacked is the norm of the day.
attacking hospitals too are happening frequently.

True, but the trend has been a decrease in violence for several centuries. -

Study history and you'll learn that it almost always has been worse. This is actually better!

Cappytan: Looks like a bank.
I second that.
DOC: they clearly have put the emphasis on future resale value.
I second that too!

The Fear mongering of this weeks WT study!
by stuckinarut2 inhave you all read this weeks study article?.
oh my word it is full of fear inducing tactics....doom and gloom outlooks.... anxiety inducing methods to develop absolute control over witnesses and cripple them in any attempt to think for themselves!.
(notice i am saying "themselves" rather than "ourselves"?!

Yeah, the guy on the right looks like Vin Diesel.
It's blatant propaganda. Be glad you can recognize it for what it is. Feel for sorry for the suckers that fall for it.

So my dad comes from vacation and ???!!!
by Kool Jo inhello folks.....so in an earlier thread i started, you'd realize that my father and i are quite close, we talk about almost everything/anything.. he traveled outside the country (he's semi-retired), enjoying the fruitage of his hard labor during his younger years.
so he recently returned home after he and mum went away to catchup with some old friends in another country.. upon his returning home, and subsequently to the meetings, he was told that a decision was made to strip him of his "field overseer" role, but will still continue to be an elder.. the reason...he goes away for too long too often...you can't be away from your congregation for three months out of the year!!!???
has anyone else had this experience before?

The personality/culture of this religion is the same as a jealous and controlling spouse. They just can't stand anyone having any outside interests of their own.
It's a codependent relationship with the religion being the abuser and each individual being the abused enabler. Ironically, elders play both roles. They are the abusers when they act in their official capacity, they are the abused enabler as an individual.
There is only one way to have a healthy self-image in a situation like this: leave it.
Let's review: It's a cult!

Don't you just love a great quote?
by stillin ini have seen a few here on this forum.
i just came across on in a book i'm reading that i thought i would share with you, appropriate to the forum.. "men think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one".
charles mackay in extraordinary popular delusions and the madness of crowds (1841).

Stillin, can you source that quote you attributed to Richard Feynman?
I don't believe he is the source.

i would think this would be a mandatory directive from hq.

They should be displayed in an appropriate, dignified way.
