He neglects to mention that this same God is a capricious, narcissistic, genocidal maniac that will kill you if you happen to guess incorrectly about which of the countless religions on Earth are representing him and which are not. Also, God needs money. Please send some, just don't send it to the wrong religion or, guess what? He'll have to kill you!

So the elder didn't actually say why he wanted you to watch it.
I hate when people do stuff like that. It's bad enough he treats you like a child telling you what to do, but it's really dumb when he can't/won't even say why.
Next month text him: You really need to watch the December jw.tv broadcast!
If he asks why, respond, "Watch it, you'll know!"

but everyone else does.. i have a couple .... first, days of the month.

I can do stoichiometric calculations and identify the spectator ions in a net ionic equation or analyze the harmony of a Bach four part chorale, but I can never remember which side of the plate the knives and forks are supposed to go on.

If I've been testy lately, here's why.

dad started bringing up spiritual stuff and i almost screwed up my fade.. it's so hard to have a genuine discussion about the issues in the organization when you have become an atheist.
it feels icky and disgusting to have to pretend and nod your head at such platitudes as "you just need to have faith"..."trust in jehovah"..."jehovah will correct it"..."remember ray franz?
