I think I was off the day they taught ...

it's like you were off the day it was taught in school and you don't know that you don't know about it.
but everyone else does.. i have a couple .... first, days of the month.

Science and religion can never be in agreement. They are fundamentally different world views. To suppose otherwise is ignorant.
Religion is about alleged REVEALED knowledge; Science is about knowledge that can be DISCOVERED.
Religion is about an elite individual or group that must be obeyed without question; Science is all about the question.
Peer review is essential to how science is done; in religions, your opinion is not wanted.

He neglects to mention that this same God is a capricious, narcissistic, genocidal maniac that will kill you if you happen to guess incorrectly about which of the countless religions on Earth are representing him and which are not. Also, God needs money. Please send some, just don't send it to the wrong religion or, guess what? He'll have to kill you!

So the elder didn't actually say why he wanted you to watch it.
I hate when people do stuff like that. It's bad enough he treats you like a child telling you what to do, but it's really dumb when he can't/won't even say why.
Next month text him: You really need to watch the December jw.tv broadcast!
If he asks why, respond, "Watch it, you'll know!"
