  If you read 1Cor 6:9, well all those of practice these things, will not inherit of the kingdom. Everybody here in this forum, either were or are still Jehovah Witnesses, so to a certain extent, most of us still believe in the bible. They only argue about its interpretation. Wordly people as we were taught, do not know their bible, nor God's will. So for them, it is normal to act the way they acted at that party you were talking about. As long as you read the bible and attend J.W. meetings, you will never find it normal to participate in such a party, where immoral things go on. Everyone is free to decide for himself what kind of life he or she wants to live. If you attend meetings, and go to worldly parties, then you are living a double life, and will have to choose one day which master you want to serve.

  On the other hand, if you choose to quit being a witness, or act like one, then after time, you will get used to other values and will blend in, and be just like the others. It's a period of transition.

  Since 100 years, the Watchtower is saying different things about prophecy. The king of the north changed so often. Tell me, who is the king of the north today. The WT doesn't even know. Where is the Peace and Security call that they are waiting for. It never came. They prophecised about 1975, and that fell through. They changed the generation definition. New light is always undoing what we were taught in the past. It is as if we never learned anything, since all is changing.

  do you beleive that one day the witnesses should stop wearing suits, and look more like every body in the street.

  they give the impression that they still live in the 50's.

  i think that they would be more accepted if they would dress differently, like everyone else.

  Worldy Compassion & Generosity

  last friday, one of our employees' home burned to the ground, killing all 3 of his children.

  i began the process of taking up a collection, buying the card, etc.

  all of us were shocked to the core for this man's tragedy and suffering.

  I remember so well that the Jehovah Witnesses said that they alone had LOVE for their neighbors. They always pictured the worldly people as mean, arrogant, unloving, and so on. Many people are generous when a disaster strikes. It's not the religion that makes you generous, but what is in your heart. Many witnesses are generous, but not always in the way we would like. For them, being generous, is knocking on doors, giving a free bible study. Being human, we need more than bible studies. We also need food, cloths, encouragement and so on.

  many people say that they just faded away and never went back to the org.

  i also faded away and i never felt any true love and friendship in the org.

  brothers and sisters were like soldiers who were working for a common goal of making new recruits.

They spent their time knocking on doors of strangers, while at the same time, they didn't visit those who slowed down or faded away in the org. Elders only came once a year, a day before the memorial, just to have more people at the memorial. Don't you think that this goes against what Jesus said in (Mathew 25: 35-40). "Take your bibles out"

  I often prayed and asked God for this and that, but I can't say that I saw anything happen. I only thank God for what I have. If I ask for something I will be deceived, so I rather just say thankyou for life, even if it is misserable at times. I knew a few witnesses who would say just the opposite. They would say that they prayed, and received. I know catholics who also prayed and received. Now thats funny, does God bless Catholics and Jehovah Witnesses alike. Then, why have so many religions. Both can't be right unless God blesses all of mankind without any distinction of religion. Some witnesses see God's hand everywhere and will make us beleive that they alone are worthy of his intervention.

  tony blair is george bush's little poodle.

  this guy is going against what every englishman really wants by standing side by side with you yanks on everything bush decideds to do .

  as terrible as 9/11 really was , if it was london that dusty bin laden would have hit , there is no way that bush would be side by side with blair in a 'war on terrorism' .

  Hi Iron Eagle, Yes he is like his poodle. England always was a great ally for the US. Are you worrying that a war with Iraq could get out of hand? Everybody wants peace, but sometimes war is the only ressort. Does Saddam want peace? Let him dissarm! The U.S. is a leader and has to take hard decisions that affect other nations also. It must be close to midnight right now in England.

  specifically the furman st bldg was mentioned.
