  as i was growing up in the troof.

  there were sayings used over and over again to control my behaviour.

  the biblical on bad associations spoil useful habits and another on just because everyone else does it doesnt mean you have to do it to, would you jump off a cliff just because other people do what were the sayings that bugged you?

  i just returned home from a nightmarish trip to chicago.

  i came in peace, and was shit on by my aunts and a cousin.

  what they did was unforgivable.

  Who really writes the talks

  hallo everyone.

  the earlier thread about the min school reminded me of the number of times that i researched and at least partly put together items and pub talks for 'he must be obeyed'.. this was necessary because he worked full time in a demanding job which left very little leeway for cobbling the many assignments together.

  at first being a good dub wife i felt guilty at doing this but in talking to others whose husbands also worked full time and were not part time cleaners or window cleaners i found that several other elders wives had always done this.. not only the talks but also sorting out the school assigments, the schedules, field service arrangements, sorting the auditing, coach and accomodation for the dc and ca, checking the accounts etc.. lots of these sisters also helped their children put together their items.. rather makes a mockery of the male privilege of "taking the lead".. most elders and ms are unable to cope with all the pressures and work if their wives dont do most for them.

  Goodbye Hair.

  i haven't posted in a long time, but i did say i'd pop in every once in a while if i had something of significance to say.

  well i thought this was significant enough to share.. a few weeks ago in a moment of altruism i had my hair tested for the "locks of love" program, which is a hair donation program for chemotherapy patients who have lost their hair.

  today i received a letter stating that my hair meets all the requirements for donation.

  Quality Of Life Musings..

  when we were witnesses, we didn't worry much about the quality of our lives.

  we were concerned for our survival, and for the survival of our loved one's, but we didn't pay much attention to our own personal happiness, believing that our desires for material things and delights were satanic in origin.. things are different now though!

  after i departed the jw's it took me many years to appreciate that being in a loving relationship with a special person, is not, in itself, enough, whether that "special person" is our god or our lover, and that there was much more required in our lives before we can feel a sense of contentment.

  i have made new friends and found a place where i feel i belong, people with like minds.. anyway, 6 months before i started posting here my life was in the crapper or so i thought.

  Why couldn't god have created billions of planets each with billions of inhabitants. If only one of them stayed loyal to him then the question of universal sovereignty would have been solved without all the suffering.

  He did. The universal sovreignty issue has been settled in those universes.

  why doesn't he just spell out "There Is A God" in the clouds in the sky

  Your posts were as Jimmy Walker would say, DY-NO-MITE!!!

  The facts are irrefutable and you have a writing style that is fluent and easy to read and understand.

  I understand where IW is coming from. There are many who operate (and will continue to operate) on "blind faith" regardless of....well, regardless of anything. This of course does not make them right and I don't think that IW was trying to say that. Just that as the old adage states, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

  This in no way negates the information that you presented. It was and remains quite excellent. I hope to hear more and more from you!
