More Young Indoctrination
by freemindfade innot sure how wide spread this is, but from my social media land i saw 2 separate videos, from two halls in completely different towns featuring their kids having a demonstration on the service meeting (i am guessing last night as i didn't go).
these kids are really young!
maybe this was just a coincidence at first i thought it was the same video then realized theses people live hundreds of miles apart.

Not to derail the thread, but I wonder if people will start naming their kids Sophia. Kinda like Catholics name their daughters Mary? -

If They Stopped Shunning Tomorrow?
by cofty inimagine that the cult decided to stop shunning family members on the proviso that the dfd person was not actively trying to attack the cult.. (please don't debate whether or not this is likely - it's hypothetical).
how would you respond to your family?.
personally i think i would be less than cooperative.

I don't have family members shunning me, but past acquaintances would be dicey. If the just popped up and said, "We can talk to you now!" it would bother me because they hadn't apologized for how they treatef me in the past. If you don't own up to your mistakes and apologize, then I don't think it would be healthy to pursue a relationship. It would be like condoning past abuse without an apology. -

Sometimes the most obvious connections are the most difficult to make
by neverendingjourney ini had a sudden realization the other day, one that took me many years to make but that should have been fairly obvious in hindsight.
let me explain.. my parents are immigrants.
they moved to the u.s. when i was a toddler.

Yes, and lots of JWs work those types of jobs as well. We had a Pioneer / Cutco Knife salesperson and a Pioneer / Avon lady in my hall growing up. -

My mother pulled out the imperfect organization line one too many times until my ever conservative at the mouth sister finally blurted out, "Well, I don't WANT to be involved with an imperfect organization!"
Well done, sis.
It's really a stupid argument when you think about it. Your argument in favor of the org is that it's imperfect? So, if an organization is perfect then that's bad? But yet we must strive for perfection? But, if we fail, then that proves its God's organization?

The JW religion has just cost me my marriage & my family life
by jambon1 inafter leaving the organisation 10 years ago i fought with everything i had to stay in my marriage and with my three children.
after a tumultuous number of years trying to maintain a happy family life while living in a divided home, it's finally over.
the religion is single handedly responsible for destroying my marriage and my family.

I noticed you used the past tense when saying you were a good dad.
Don't do that! You are the same dad you always have been! Arguably better because you are showing your kids how to live a healthy life, now!

Ties at the Kingdom Hall
by CloseTheDoor incouple of weeks ago an elder took a young man aside and crawled all over him after the tms for wearing a "skinny" tie.
it was one of those 2 inch wide ties.
nothing bright or scandalous about.

The only way to get a bully to back down and respect you is to stand up to them.
"Well, Brother Nosey, the next time I go clothes shopping I'll invite you and your wallet along because I've completely blown my clothes budget for the year!"

"The organisation is imperfect, but it doesn't affect my relationship with Jehovah"
by Alive! ini've noted active, devoted jw's state the above.. and, it's not a problem for me to remain trusting of god, i just don't trust religions or men.. recently, a member of this forum stated that he remains an active jw, in the family of god's people, wanting to encourage and do good - whilst recognising that the pastoral leaders (the gb) have shipwrecked the faith of many, being unsound scripturally etc, etc.. stop and think about this - the bible says to not follow after those who lie and hurt the faith of "little ones".. the pharisees were accused of traversing over lands and expending much energy to make a single convert - only for that convert to end up worse of than he started off with.. it's one thing to not believe this is the 'truth' and feeling the awful pressure of managing ones life, trying not to lose ones family.. it's quite another thing to declare oneself to be a christian believer of god's jw household, and somehow believe the god of love would use corrupt liars to parade as jesus' brothers in the urgency of last days.
really?
and, to then visibly promote faith in corrupt men, and try to bring converts into a place where the rulership is wrong.. some of us are dying from hurt here.......give me a break..

They're taking your money, a watcher. And if you're not giving much, they definitely want more. -

They're Making it Impossible to Fade
by DarioKehl infor those of you who have already faded due to family still being in, have you noticed how the noose is tightening?.
if it's not memorial, it's special day assembly.
if it's not that, it's convention or the special talk.

"May we come inside and talk?"
"Oh, no thank you!" I enthused with a big smile while walking out onto the porch to block the door. It confused the hell out of them because I was so friendly.

Just went out to an early Mother's Day dinner tonight. It's the opposite of cookware and it was much appreciated!
Bonus points for seafood!
