People deserve respect. Always.
Ideas are best respected by tearing them to shreds to see if they withstand scrutiny.
There is a difference.
i’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.
i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.
i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

In the US, child molestors are the scum of the scum and are hated by all the other prisoners. They do 'hard time' due to the other prisoners giving them a taste of their own medicine.
I don't know if that is true in Australian prisons or not, but I can't say I'd be sorry if it is.
If he's only doing 8 months, he deserves some hard time.
Child rapists disgust me.

How did the judge know that he hadn't offended since the original crime?
Merely based on the fact that there were no other charges filed?
Was there no consideration given that there might be other silent victims?

Why do people believe in the Christian God?
The likelihood depends upon the continent on which you were born.
North America? Europe? Your likelihood is much higher than if you were born in Asia.
Is god so selective that he favors certain continents over others?

Jesucrickets, could they speak any more slowly?
in the very near future the gang will be down in a bunker, cellar awaiting the police, military to break in and take them away to camps or executions .
(paranoid much) this is the foretold "prophecy" of the governments turning on religion and saving them for last.since the couple portrayed as simplifying their life by getting rid of a lot of material things is shown to be (about) the same age in the bunker we know it must be any minute now that it will happen.
i have been out for over 35 years and things seem to be getting more bizarre each year.. when did this doctrine really become main stream?
Disney must've wanted too much money to use actual Stormtroopers in the video...
thought i'd introduce myself, give a little of a background story.
i've been a short 3 month member of jwr, so now i'll try to visit you guys instead.. i'm in my mid twenties today, live in sweden.
grew up in a family with an active jehovahmom and inactive dad.
Welcome.
i just came over from jwr.
a little background: my mom converted to the witnesses when i was five.
i was baptized at 14, was mentally out by 18, and successfully faded by the time i was 25. mom and both my younger sisters and their families are still in.
Welcome, Wayward. Congratulations on your successful fade.
My story is similar, but my brother and sister are also out. Mom and Dad are the only ones in.
Our issue now is preventing them from indoctrinating their grandchildren.
you can all call me jess, i guess you can say i'm a "refugee" from jwr.
i'm going to try and keep this short for now, i'm in my early 20s, i was born in but never baptized, i've been mentally out for 7 years and fully out for about 5ish.
despite never having been baptized my fading took quite a bit of time and work.
Yes, Nathan, thinking of adding the prefix "Notso" to my name. Many regrets over that choice. :)

He's being a smartass; you said ask me anything!
But, he's totally harmless and has quite a bit of knowledge. ;)
We have some quirky members here. You'll love meeting all of them.
