Are there more Bethel layoffs in the immediate future?
by LongHairGal ini just saw a post on reddit: ‘wt are prepping the r&f for changes in the march/april meeting workbook’.. in the post the person noted what they read (for march 8) and it mentioned bethel adjustments and reference was made to 2015 when bethelites were let go.. if this happens (yet again) another bunch of people are being sent home to fend for themselves in the big bad world at an advanced age with little to no preparation.
even though this doesn’t surprise me, it could not come at a worse time with a global pandemic and massive job loss everywhere..congregations are already in turmoil because of so many who reached retirement age totally unprepared because they were told armageddon would be here before they reached that age.
this is in addition to all the other ‘needy’ and troubled types in the congregations looking for as$istance.. i hope any bethelites there have a plan and some people they can contact.

The Mysterious Missing Islam.....
by snare&racket ini've discussed this before but not in this context alone.. i remember being about 14 years old, 1994 and starting a study in the uk with a charming muslim from the congo.
he was a very pleasant middle aged guy with a big family, two wives, always the most hospitable.
at the time the watchtower had a book on many religions, a thick red book called 'mankind's search for god' so i would read and discuss the section on islam with him.. interestingly, but not surprising, many details they had were wrong about islam and he would explain how and correct me.

Well I feel stupid. I read "Congo" and thought it was was short for 'congregation' and wondered how there ever came to be "a charming Muslim from the Congo with. . . two wives."

Magnum, I'm about a decade younger than you. I had enough doubts to go to community college, and though they still had a card catalogue, I was able to find several books on JWs, some of which were personal stories, and some of which placed JWs within the greater spectrum of Christian sects, specifically the Adventist arm.
The point being that basically the one decision, to step foot onto a community college campus, can be the difference between making it out in time to plan for a financial future and not.
That's why we are always encouraging people newly out or planning on leaving to go to college and educate themselves. Choose any course of study you like, plan a career, and most importantly learn critical thinking.
All of us are one decision away from having a different life outcome. There may have been that one super important decision in the past, but it may be in the future. One of the hardest things to do when you're young is to predict your life 20 or 40 years into the future. If you don't believe anything else on this site, believe that it gets here waaay more quickly than you think.

Who owns the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society
by pistolpete inactually no one does.. i know this is a concept that can be hard for some to grasp, considering all other forms of organizations like sole proprietorship, general partnership, an llc, or a for profit corporation.
these organizations are created legally for the simple purpose of making a profit.. but unlike a for profit corporation,---- a nonprofit corporation is formed to carry out-.
whether that be religious, educational, charitable, scientific or other qualifying purpose.

Well, there's more than one corporation, right?
I know there is the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania in addition to Watchtower.
I believe one spells Watchtower as one word and the other spells Watch Tower as two words, but I'm not positive which is which.

Nurses are unwilling to take the COVID-19 Vaccine
by adjusted knowledge ini work at two separate hospitals and most of the rns i work with have stated they won't take the vaccine.
i've read a report that 1/3 of rns will refuse the vaccine.
for those in other countries do you see this being an issue or is it more an american phenomenon?.

An upvote for vitamin D. I'm chronically low so my doctor has put me on prescription vitamin D 50,000 iu. I take one pill every other week.
It's helped with my mood. It's helped with PMS. And I haven't been sick very much recently. Some people are just chronically deficient, especially during the winter when there isn't much sunlight.
Plus it helps your body absorb calcium which is important so you don't get osteoporosis and break bones by just sitting down on a chair or lifting up a glass of milk.

Hello again. It's great when people stop back in to see everyone again.
It's like getting a holiday visit from an old friend.
G-ma, I hope you're not still tired. Come on in and visit awhile. Take a load off your feet and a load off your mind.
Sorry to hear about your husband. Tell us all about it whenever you're ready.
Have a very merry holiday season ( if you celebrate )!

AM3: Scare your kids into the truth
by neat blue dog inanthony morris iii on the 12/20 broadcast:.
parents need to give their children a realistic idea of what we will face in the near future.. .
.many parents choose to help their children appreciate the graphic visual imagery of a bible-based account while at the same time building trust in jehovah.

looking for Jw infomation about the bible being changed etc?
by Aposta-Fish inin one of mike and kim's latest videos they claim that the borg wrote in the 1960's that the book of revelations wasn't even finished until a much later date.
they have also stated that apostate christians changed the bible> i've also read years ago they trashed the bible or at least the king james years ago after another one of their fail predictions and right before they made their own bible> .
i'm looking for these writings and any other that where the borg is criticizing the bible?.

I'll give you a pass because it's actually nice to read a sentence that is longer than 3 words and doesn't end in an emoji.
