what is it about some of these self proclaimed "christians" who go seeking persecution when it don't exist?.

we've had a case locally in calgary where the initial reports sounded like the person had a legitimate claim: a bus driver didn't want to drive the bus in a gay pride parade and said he'd resign if they made him and that the local transit company was threatening him to force him to do it.. except it was all invented ... by him !.

they already proactively told him that there was no danger that he would be asked to drive that bus in the parade (i.e.

And, she hears it twice a week at meetings, from others when she goes in field service and any time she is on JW.org.

It's gaslighting, really. Not many JWs are happy, but the constant repeat of "we're the happiest people on earth" denies their reality.

It's like the organization is the personification of Narcissist Personality disorder. They are always right, all transgressions are justfied, everyone exists to serve their needs and they'll gaslight you in a minute to make you doubt your feelings or recollections.

I'm so sorry you have to watch your mother fall for this and suffer in her old age.

i popped into the supermarket for a few things after work today and found myself walking up an aisle alongside a couple who used to be in my tuesday group.

At one time I did feel worried that I did not have a religion. Now I don't. It just isn't necessary for me and makes me feel very unhappy. Religion just isn't my thing.

Sometimes when you are depressed, it seems like everyone else but you is happy and having a good life.

But, depression lies. I agree with LisaRose. Please get evaluated for depression. It is treatable, and once your mind clears, you can then better make the big decisions in life like Religion.

I think she'll dig in her heels and stay in jail for awhile. She's taken on an "obey god as ruler rather than men" stance.

Maybe she should be reminded that the Bible also says to render "Caesars things to Caesar."

Also a factor. And the rise of the Fox News propaganda machine. Poor journalism, but good sound bites. They sound good to the uneducated and those who are not critical thinkers. This is how the Democrats lost the working clas white votes. Union votes, especially, used to be Democratic, but a lot of those folks just came right out and admitted that they wouldn't ever vote for a n*****. Fox news just gives them soundbite justification after the fact. Like "preserving the American way of life." Sounds great, but means nothing.

I know what it is. It's a black man in office.

And, unfortunately, most of the people who hate him don't even realize that they're prejudiced.

He does the same things that other presidents have done, but because its Obama people foam at the mouth.

Hello, this is racism! This is what black folks have been trying to tell white Americans about for years! This is what it's like to be judged unfairly because you are black.

You see, they dislike the person first, and then they justify it by claiming it's due to this policy or that action. But, they decided to dislike the person first and then post-justfied it.

And, believe me, white folks will tell you and honestly believe they are not racist. They hate his politics!

But when there's such vitriol and violence and genuine ill will towards a person, the likes of I have never seen in the US before and who holds the same political positions that other white presidents have who haven't been so vilified, then it's obvious that it's down to racism.

You don't have to think you are, but you can still be racist.
