More WTS cash-grabbing: "Funds on Deposit" program for Circuits
by sir82 inat a recent circuit assembly "business meeting" for elders, a new program was announced: "funds on deposit".. here's how it works:.
each circuit determines a "floor" and a "ceiling" for an amount to hold in their circuit checking account.
when the "ceiling" amount is exceeded, the amount above the threshold is wired to the wts and held by them.. if the circuit checking account drops below the "floor" amount, the circuit can send a request to the wts to request that some of their "funds on deposit" be returned to them so that their checking account resumes a "safe" level.. as explained by the elder explaining the program,, "in other words, the branch is acting exactly like a bank - the circuit will make deposits and withdrawals as needed.

@ OntheWayOut:
Wow! Your experience is VERY telling as to what the priorities are for this so-called "Christian" religion, huh? Screw sending your excess funds to another congregation in need, WE (Mother) will decide how your own donations are spent, so send it to us to put into our coffers! Wow.....just.....wow. Every time I hear an experience like that from someone like a former Elder, etc....it confirms that I made the correct decision not to stay in this money-grubbing, hateful CULT.

I swear, just when you thought you've heard it all, you hear some more. What a bunch of freakin' crooks!
I find it amazing that in the local churches in my area, every month (sometimes weekly) in the printed church "program" there is an exact breakdown of all accounts with deposits, withdrawls, expenses, donations, etc listed. It is all out in the open for the public to see. Anyone can question it, examine the books, etc. A stark contrast to the JW.borg way of closed-door meetings and subtle, cleverly disguised shakedowns. This is nothing more than a power trip and money shakedown in the extreme!
I've been saying it for a few years now: Money only flows one way in this Cult, out of the wallets of the sheeple and up into the coffers and hedge funds of the leadership. What a fleecing of the flock! They give absolutely ZERO back to their members in financial aide or assistance, and if you were to DARE to ask for any, they have the galls to tell you it's not their responsability to provide for you (Jehovah provides, not THEM!) and that you should hit up your so-called "worldly" relatives in times of need first. The freakin' balls these clowns have! I swear if I were still in, I'd be punching people in the face for the audacity they display.
They haven't gotten 0.01 cent out of me since 1993. How do you like that, you greedy cult azzholes?

bull poop
by snare&racket inglad to see the forum is going strong, lots of new names and stories......and it has only been a couple of months!.
the wt really has no chance in such a world of free and accessible information.
keep fighting guys, the freedom once you are loose of the governing body is awesome, you will be amazed how long you ignored the stench off bullshit as your ability to smell it returns.. and on that note ;) x. .

But what your local body of Elders really want to know is, "Have you given or accepted a blood transfusion? How many times? With whom? Did you enjoy it? Male or female? Was it in the dark, or in a park? Was it a little, a lot, or just a needle prick? Whole blood (unusual in this day in age I know) or just components? Fractions? Fractions of a component? How about organ transplantation? Have you brazenly contributed your doctrinal knowledge to helping a transplant team with blood-soaked organs? Do you drain the blood from the organs, kosher style after removing them and giving them to the transplant team? What organs were they? A penis or an eye? I encourage you to contact your nearest Hospital Liason Committee members and straighten this all out immediately so that the local Body of Elders can have a complete and correct understanding in which to fill in your congregation member card and with which to judge and shun you.
LOL.

WOW!! So good to see you again. Always wanted to tell you how much of an inspiration your story was to me and I'm sure to many others as well. You are proof positive that there IS a LIFE outside of this vile, money-grubbing CULT.
Don't be a stranger, Doc.

Why Jehovah's Witnesses Are Susceptible To Ponzi-Schemes and Rip-Off Artist More than the public!
by BucketShopBill inthis thread is dedicated to my friend blondie when she asked "why the pay day loan shop woman had so much access to jws".
in 1993 the jehovah's witnesses in ventura, santa barbara, san luis obispo, monterery, stanislaus, san fransisco, alemeda counties were spreading word of the miracle worker of money from san fransisco.
word traveled throughout the circuit overseers, district overseers telling everyone these brothers in san fransisco were paying 15% for "180 days loans"without any risk, most of these jws were elders and cos and dos, it was only among them the scam remained to create a "in crowd feeling" and left out non elders setting up the sheep for something special down the road!

Divorcing my husband of 13 years...
by 2pink inmy husband and i were both born ins.
i left in 2009, and he followed me out a bit later.
we were one of those couples who followed the script, married young and ended up having nothing in common other than the religion.

A lot of good advice so far. #1 is best divorce lawyer that you can afford.
I will say that even though I applaud you for having such a big heart, I cannot fathom why someone would want more than (1) special needs child at a time. (1) would be enough of a handful, but (3) ? Wow.
Don't know the circumstances of "last night" or whatever, and I'm not trying to sound defensive of a man I don't know, but do you think maybe the continual, perpetual stress of having not just (1), but (3) special needs children has anything to do with whatever is wrong with him or his actions? Just putting it out there. He may in fact be even more miserable than you are and acting out on it.

1.) You speak as though you don't already have (2) children? I'd hate to be them and come across this post. Appreciate what you have, instead of bitching about what you don't have.
2.) My wife had her tubes tied at 34, during c-section of her first child. She met me at 38, and we married when she was 40. She had her tubes "un-tied" because she knew I wanted a child of my own. She had our son at age 41. (successful honeymoon for sure!) She has an Aunt that is younger than her. Think about that! 40 is not the end of the world for a woman, IF she is in good health. Neither of you sound like you are in athletic condition, so maybe you should concentrate on the children you have?
3.) Imagine how hard life would be for the youngest child if you died while they were young? I'm 17 years younger than my wife, so she doesn't worry about our son cause I'm the younger one and built like a bodybuilder. (cause I eat and train like a mother freakin' BEAST)

I remember back about 20 years ago some snake-oil salesman JW's blew thru our local congregations here on the east coast talking about some new-age BS about "testing the body", finding multiple personalities in people in the congregations, and something about the "three-brain". It was some weird, totally weird, SH*T. A trusted family friend and elder came around with this all excited. My father was aghast at his gullability. It was in it's own way, a wake-up call for us. These crooks were running some form of kinesology or some stupid crap, and fleecing the flock royally, then leaving to the next congregation. Freakin' crooks!

@ Steve2:
Oh, it's not you "getting old man syndrome", I am 35 yrs old and totally agree. Today's breed of JW's are emotional, brainwashed, simple-minded half-wits with no ability to argue or defend their beliefs. Any objection or threat to their internal belief system is cause for immediate shut-down and running away with their fingers in their ears going, "A-lalala-lalalala-lalalala", like a little kid. I think growing up in the 1980's, there was still an ability to decisevly argue the belief structure and doctrines using WT literature. You know, Aid book, etc, etc. Now, there is dumbed-down pamplets and JW.org site. Got questions that are "too deep"? Well then, you are too SMART to be a JW and are probably a "goat". Baaah. In hindsight, with the passage of time, I think it is becoming increasingly evident that 1995 was a crucial deceleration point for this cult. The jig was up, the Governing Body (kind of) admitted it, and after a few years the Sheeple caught on and started to leave and/or die. What's left are a new breed of JW born around that time or converted after the fact, that know NOTHING of the deep spiritual slop we were fed and led to believe. It's a cycle.....a vicious cycle. How many of you in your 60's remember the fallout of Rutherford's 1925 end of the world prophetic bullcrap? CT Russell's 1914? Not many, and hence history repeated itself in 1975.
