One Day assembly in Arizona- $17,000 !!

i heard from a reliable source that a one-day assembly in arizona last weekend had a "cost" to the publishers of $17,000.. predictably, the elders were nice enough to obligate the attendees to a $6,000 donation to wt before the assembly "costs" (i.e.

"rent/extortion) were even met.

$11,000 rent plus $6000 in extra "donations".

You can say that again! Wow! And they have the audacity to cry out that they need more money? Also, what exactly does the jw.cult give back to it's followers in the form of financial support in their times of need? Absolutely NOTHING! Zilch, ZERO. The money-grab from these power-hungry charlatans really is at an all-time high. I really hope the TV/internet broadcasting shows the poor pee-ons how their hard-earned money is being spent, and it's NOT being used to help poor Andre in Liberia with Ebola.

What a rip-off this cult is. Scientology has got some serious competition in the "who's the looniest cult" category. UGH.

So what we can gather from this article, is that the WatchTower (err...jw.borg) only really cares about lining it's pockets even more than what it already has. It doesn't care if some developer comes along, buys it, paves it over, or builds an industrial toxic dump. It just doesn't care, as long as it gets $6000.00 / per acre on land it hasn't paid one DIME in taxes on ever, than that's all the matters. The Mormon Church could drive up tomorrow with an armored truck filled with $6 million dollars claiming they want to build another Salt Lake City, and the jw.borg lawyers would smile as they sign over the property. No lie!

Wouldn't this property really be put to good use if the jw.borg would instead build the first-ever JW: 1.) Hospitals 2.) Elderly/retirement communities 3.) Orphanage 4.) JW-run farm to create food for JW-operated food banks around the world. Oh wait! First they'd have to HAVE a food bank before they could supply food to them!

What an utter waste of land and resources. My ideas above would blow the minds of not only worldly people, but the JW Sheeple themselves. I mean surely, they have the $$$$ to put ALL of what I have listed above onto that 500 acres, with plenty of billion$ left over to print bibles and create more tv studios.

Yeah, I picked up on all of that too. That equipment and studio must have cost MILLIONS of $$$, just for the equipment!

Right now, I had just watched about the first 20 minutes, and I'm so stunned that I'm at a loss for rational human thought. I can't believe what I'm seeing. This religion is a total sell-out. The old WatchTower is DONE. The re-branding of the old-time WatchTower is now complete with the JW.org and JW Broadcasting facelift. This must have been what it was like back if you were a Bible Student, and then Booze Rutherford took complete control, threw out what he wanted, and re-named the religion "Jehovah's Witnesses." No wonder so many people left back then, and I can imagine some of the old timers leaving now.

I swear, picking Lett to start the show is like having Clarabell the Clown open for Howdy Doody. Freakin' retarded. The simplistic, monotone, simple-minded way in which this man speaks is an insult to anyone with a broadcasting background or education. (like myself; my father was in radio and I had my FCC license by age 12).

As I said....I'm really just stunned at this point. My parents must be spinning in their graves. The GB are however going to create an endless buffet of stupid quotes, meme's, and facial expressions.

How many Kingdom Halls could this have built? How many meals could have been provided to widows and orphans? How many soup kitchens open? JW's have ZERO soup kitchens, food banks, shelters, AA centers, hospitals, or JW-owned nursing homes.....BUT, they have their own television stuido? Total sell-outs, and Jesus has got to be doing a gigantic face-palm at this FARCE of a religion now!

Wow....just......wow. I learn something new about this freakish CULT I was raised in every day!!!!! An Armaggedon count-down card? Who'd have thought? This is some bat-sh*t crazy stuff right here! Who came up with this morbid crap? I am so embarrassed to have ever been raised and involved in this End-Times apocolypic CULT that I could run screaming out the door. I actually can't believe they have BALLS to put this kind of embarrasing evidence up on their own website. I guess they figure they'd better be up front and fess up before it goes viral on the internet.

First time I've ever seen this card, for real! However, I'm surprised they didn't resurrect this concept for 1975 build-up. Apparently, they forgot all about Jesus stating about, "...no one knows the day or the hour, not the angels or even the Son." etc. But oh hey, these old geezers up in Brooklyn, NY do, so let's create a "Death count-down card" and giddily cross of the days until the mass slaughter of 99.995% of the earth's population. Sick.

Yeah, I never bought that whole, "God confused their languages" bit of this story. I think Nimrod was real, and even the tower. Babylon became a great city, etc. But if God really confused their languages, shame on him. It's kind of like that whole story with the Ark of the Covenant. It started to fall, and one of the men carrying it by the poles reached out to steady it and God's active force (inside the Ark) discharged and killed the guy. Well gee, the guy was just trying to do his job, and you struck him dead for it? God sounds like a real sport. I think it much more likely that due to the Ark's construction (a giant electrical capacitor) that when the man reached out to steady the Ark, he connected with ground and the Ark (capacitor) discharged right thru him to the ground. Boom. End of story.

Many stories in the Bible are just that - STORIES. Many are influenced by true events, people, places, and even natural disasters. There is some truth that had been distorted and added on to as the story was told and written from one generation to the next. One has to be able to use DISCERSION when reading thru it all. You know, common sense. So many people lack this.

Measuring Your Worth via The Organization

one thing i've noticed growing up as a jehovah's witness is the insane amount of people that measure their worth and the worth of others according to 'spiritual' activties.

to be fair, there are some sincere people that just want to work for a good cause.

but i can't even have a conversation with some people without them talking about something religious.

This is true of MOST organized religions, but VERY true of the JW's. My Advent Lutheran in-laws measure everyone up like this and treat everyone not in their faith (my family, others) like complete DIRT under their feet. I / we now have nothing to do with them. Religion breeds such hypocrisy.

I hope it catches on, as the JW's aren't a really a religion at all. They are a pseudo-religious publishing and real estate CULT, posing as a non-profit charitable Christian religion who pray upon the uneducated, mentally unstable, and elderly for all the cash and time they can suck out of them.

That's another thing......I, and probably 90% of the rest of my peers, were NOT dumb enough to be baptized. Oh sure, we'd "study" from time to time, then say we were waiting just a little while longer.....sooon....shortly. Then NEVER get dunked. I enjoyed what little freedom I had, and NEVER wanted to experience the hardship of being DF'd, so I never really wanted to get dunked. It's had the added bonus of being completely "untouchable." I can say, do, act however I want and there isn't a damn thing any of them can do about it. My once-JW parents passed away, and even if they were alive, I'm pretty sure they'd be "out" with me as well due to how f*cked up this so-called religion has become. So FU, JW.cult!

I can honestly say in this area (south-central Pennsylvania) that the congregations I grew up in are like geriatric wards. There are no "youth" from ages 18-35. The ones that ARE left are completely gutless, brainwashed, socially retarded and isolated homeschooled little JW robot FREAKS with no prospect of ever moving out of Elder Father and Pioneer Mother's basement. They are perpetually virgins and intellectual midgets. I'd say at age 18 (and before in a lot of cases) kids are checking out, leaving, and giving the finger to the "JW.org". I am 35. Of the 10-15 people my age that I knew as JW's in elementary school, only (2) are left. One, is the pussy-whipped son of the local CoBE, and he married a Circuit Overseer's daughter. His life and balls are non-existant. He runs a potato chip truck that stocks grocery stores with (1) particular brand. Real rocket scientist. The other one is a demure, pussified little man-child, who's first hot JW latino wife was so disgusted with him that she divorced him inside of 2 years. Her JW parents supported her. No one knew why, but I think I have an idea. Just last weekend, I passed him in the grocery store pushing a cart with another very effeminant looking man-child. Both were extremely "close and overfriendly", and metro-sexual looking. I'm talking limp wrists and light loafers all-around. I don't think these two were shopping for a congregation picnic if you ask me. They did however look happy, so good for them! I'm sure his parents on the other hand, are NOT. This is because they disowned their oldest daughter (man-child's older sister) back when she was 18 and dating a non-JW. She was DF'd for doing so. She married him 10 years ago. Her parents have NOTHING to do with her, but are ok with their closeted-homosexual son as long as he doesn't openly come out as being with his "friend". I'm at a loss for words on that situation.

So score is:

2: still left in relgion. (1) in closet

13: Gone for good, and many with spouses and children that they keep far away from crazy JW parents and religion.
