they've been reducing the amount of congregations assigned to meet there and using the times when it isn't in use to make repairs.

elders have now been informed that they are selling off the property and buildings and that circuits would be assigned to attend other sites, twice as far, three or four hours away, like montreal.

When they sell off the Grantville, PA Assembly Hall, let me know!!! That place is a freakin' dump! So glad I never have to waste a weekend there again. Think the last time was summer of 1999, maybe 2000.

I've never seen an Assembly Hall like the one posted above. It looks like the outside of a Bass Pro, Cabela's, Dick's Sporting Good, Sports Authority, etc. Unbelievable! Doesn't look like any "place of worship" that I've ever seen. Looks a giant office space for a sales meeting, not worship. GB Worship?

I totally agree with the one poster above and I've seen it like this for years even as a child: Money and help only flow one way in the cult, from the bottom up! Only the beatings and crap flow downhill....never any support or help back to the rank and file who donate the time and money to begin with! Whenever YOU need help, you are "fed" the company line, "Trust in Jehovah. Jehovah provides. Wait on Jehovah." Funny, Christendom's churches usually provide immediate assistance both physically and financially. I've gotten it myself, out of the blue, while both of my parents were terminally ill and dying. Didn't even ask for it. I got ZERO out of the congregations my family attended for 25+ years. They couldn't be bothered. I got so much support from my mom's worldly co-workers and my so-called "Worldly" family that I was floored. JW's were utterly USELESS. Couldn't have cared less. I started voting with my wallet when I was 10 years old. That was the last time I dropped anything into the box with the slot. In retrospect, that was the year of the beginning of my "awakening" from this looney cult.

The freakin' BALLS these charlatans have to get on jw broadcasting and beg for money like this, after they known to be worth billions of dollars, after purchasing millions of dollars of real estate in New York, Florida, the UK, etc. After selling off god only knows how many properties around the world and raking in millions maybe a billion USD. After fleecing the Congregations of everything in their savings except a measly $5000.00 USD, then demanding they keep "donating" the same amount month after month??????? Incredible gall and audacity.

When these beatings fail to rake in the desired amounts of money, I foresee them finally enacting a tithing structure like that of the Mormons or other denominations. It's right around the corner people! Any day now, SOON!! Wait and see. The death by a 1,000 lawsuits has begun. They are slowly bleeding, hence the begging for even more money. Greedy, self-centered, turds!

From now on, it will only be spoken about has as if it were speculation and rumours that the rank and file pulled out of thin air, and of course the GB never REALLY meant to imply this and that with types and anti-types. Just like the 1995 article washed away decades of the "Generation of 1914 that would not pass away", so this article washes away the types and anti-types convoluted BS. People under 25 probably won't even miss it or even fully comprehend how HUGE such an article is.

I am 35, almost 36 years old. I grew up attending ENDLESS book study groups in homes of much older ones who lived thru so much, and hearing and studying and comparing older publications concerning types and anti-types from ol' Oracle Freddie Franz was common place in the 1980's. Now? Freddie Franz has been reduced from being the Org's once great "Oracle" to a footnote in WT history along with Knorr; a bat-shit crazy senile old preacher spouting off that the sky is falling - Soon! and that probably had dementia.

UPDATE: It has been announced that Brother SnoopDog of the Chihauha Congregation in El Salvador, has just been announced as "no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses." Apparently, he showed an unrepentant attitude about being caught openly engaging in fornication, brazenly giving it to his neighour's dog in heat in a matter unfitting of a Christian hound. "Doggy-style" is not on the approved WT list of acceptable positions, and hence he was promptly thrown out into the dog house. Former brother Snoop-Dog was heard to remark on his way out, "I have no regrets, the b*tch was in heat and I gave it to her good, because her Elder husband was no where to be found and neglecting her needs! i've watched the reaction to the nepal disaster for the first time with eyes opened.

lots of comments about praying for the brothers and sisters affected.

the official release on the website references only the sister and her two children that died, along with the impact on the brothers there.

Any paging thru any 1980's WT Bound Volume set (especially early 80's) will give you a glimpse into the WT rank-n-file psyche. It's filled with images of doom and gloom, Great Tribulation, Armageddon, destruction, children falling into cracks in the earth, wretched clergyman, etc etc. They actually look forward to and encourage this stuff. To them, it is another "sign of the end times". After all, it is an End-Times Apocolyptic CULT.

i have very recently come out of a bout of severe depression which lasted for years.

i have ginormous underlying issues which i hardly talk about, especially to my family.. today my sister came in, wanting to force me to do something she wanted.

her strategy was to make me feel bad for feeling bad, just to show me that my problem (which she has no idea of but thinks she does) wasn't the biggest in the world.

I see right thru that crap as well. It's just them trying to use a manipulative guilt trip on you. It's pure Witness strategy as well.....the whole, "There are a lot more people worse off than you, so suck it up, get over it, and fill the KH seat.....pray more, do more, give more." That type of belittling behavior doesn't impress me in the least, only serves to piss me off and distance me further.
