  as most of us on this site have experienced firsthand when we were in, there is a lack of love in the majority of congregations.. i was talking to a pimi person recently who said that love was the identifying mark of true christians (in their opinion the jw organisation) and that is why the watchtowers they study continually tell them to show love to one another.. i said that if their love was genuinely practiced they wouldn't need to be told to show it because it would arise from their heart and soul and be evident in believers which is what jesus was actually saying.

  recognising the needs of the community with rising food prices some local churches where i live were moved to start food banks and offer free meals to families on the breadline.

  to me that is spontaneously shown and is genuine love in action.. needless to say the pimi disagreed with me.

  That's because WatchTower LITERATURE always trumps even what the Bible says. Their literature is their #1 authority, not the Bible.

  Why, I'm certain that if the Governing Body want the Field Ministry to start back up again, that surely they'll start sending money BACK into the Congregations to help pay for the fuel. After all, they make the claim that they are chosen by God Himself to look after his "worldly possessions", the Flock.

  Lett the money flow back INTO the pauper rank-n-file Sheeple's gas tanks. They don't want to do that? Too cheap? Well then, Fugg 'em!!! I'd lie every single month on my service slip if I were still PIMI.

  You guys are jumping to conclusions. Cedars probably went back to London because due to dwindling funds/donations with which to live off of, he now has to retrieve his window washing and chimney sweep equipment so he can start up in Croatia.

  its a personal pet peeve to me but i hate it when ex jws use the catch phrase friends.

  this was used at every convention and many meetings i went to.

  A little history about the term "Friends", in context to religion.

  The original Bible Students were founded by CT Russell, in Pennsylvania. In PA at that time, CT was around and exposed to:

  Adventists

  Quakers

  Masons

  Christadelphians

  Many of these belonged to the Masonic groups/clubs, and hence would discuss more than just business over fine cigars and Brandy.

  CT picked and choose what he liked from the surrounding groups, threw in some Numberology and Pyramidolgy (also in style at the time), and wha-laa! The Bible Students were born!!! Like "Judge" Rutherford, his title of "Pastor" Russell was complete Bullshit! He had ZERO pastoral education! In fact, he could not read or translate Hebrew OR Greek! He only went to school to age 14!
  

  The term "Friends" was borrowed from the Quakers. To this day they can be found, and their "Meeting Houses" are historical landmarks in the Northeast USA. It is a term they used among themselves.

  Originally, BIble Students met in groups called Ecclesia, which was a term for Congregations borrowed from the Christadelphians. Later, buildings were constructed which came to be known as Kingdom "Halls", similar to Masonic Halls.

  Early Bible Student literature is covered with the Winged-Sun (solar) Disc, which was influenced directly by CT's interest in Egyptology and Pyramidology, as well as Masonry. It should be noted that CT was NOT a Mason, but shared similar interests and beliefs. The eary Harold of Christ's Presence as well as other WT literature up thru Rutherford featured the common Masonic "Crown and Cross" logo.

  in a previous thread i mentioned how the society took down the pyramid monument at rosemont cemetary in pittsburgh.

  well now there's something being built on the same site.

  Interesting. I actually hope they do the "right thing" and put back a repaired and restored original Pyramid Marker. Everyone knows it was there, and even their own literature shows it. It's part of their history that really can't be erased.

  The pics above show a stone base for a concrete base pad. Hopefully the repair/restored marker goes back on it.

  I understand people are upset, but it should NOT have been vandalized. It's a stone witness and testament to the Bible Student's and WatchTower's past history - period.
