Go Bag and Catastrophes

I'm 41. I've had an EDC "end of the world go-bag" since I was 6 years old. As an adult now, it just makes sense. I have it in my work backpack. I have small ones in each vehicle, along with standard roadside emergency items.
How so? Because I was programmed early on that if the shit hit the fan, you gotta look out for #1. The Great Tribulation could break out at any moment, so at least be prepared.
Ironically, there's an entire industry built up around this type of mentality. "EDC" or "Every Day Carry" can be minimalist lightweight items, or just a small pack (8inx8in for instance) like I carry. Sometimes it goes waaaaay overboard, like in the case of "Doomsday Preppers", that have an entire basement walls stocked floor to ceiling with food items and 50,000 rounds of ammunition. I mean seriously, 50,000 rounds is pretty light duty if you ask me. But anyway, preparedness is not insane, but going overboard can become like some sort of hoarding obsession.

What Do You Think About New York City?

i’ve always loved the vitality of the city and no one could ever say that you could get bored in nyc.
i regularly went for business during the day and in the evenings go to local bars and restaurants as well as the village.

Chicago was a great city to visit in the late 90's, early 00's. Really cleaned up. Great parks, walking/shopping district, incredible museums. Now look at it......Gang-Land.
Soon, the USA will look like the post-apocalyptic "Mad Max" series.

I've been in drafting and design since I was 16 years old, and was the youngest employee of an architectural-engineering firm when I was 18. I worked for 2 large specialized firms until I was 22, then left for the contracting side of HVAC, refrigeration, etc where I do coordination drawings, design, drafting, etc. It's been good, but I should have been an architect or engineer if not for this damn cult. I shake my head at how my parents refused to help me with financial aide (sign for loans) even though I'd been accepted to Temple, Drexel, and Penn State.

I'm in Pennsylvania. We're at 50% full-vaccination levels. My family included. Most every business has dropped required masks, UNLESS you are NOT vaccinated. I'm telling you, it's like a (literal) breathe of fresh air!
No more masks at work, no more at the grocery store or mall. Movie theaters are re-opening, with social distancing of course. Some schools have dropped masks. (though not my child's, as there is only 2 weeks left, so they're keeping it)
Dr. Fauci has stated we all may need a booster shot in 6-9 months. Ok, no big deal.....so just throw it in with the annual "regular" flu shot I get anyway??

WatchTower has evolved over the past decade, no doubt about it. The move on digital was bucked at first, then embraced and now it is seen as the future.
One has to remember though, that all of this media crap is really just to keep the current "Generation" of JW's and their yung wanzzzzz in the fold thru fear, obligation, and guilt. Sure, they make some dumbass cartoons or a view quick misleading clips to show at the doors on a tablet, but for the most part it's just fluff and doom and gloom to keep the rank-n-file Sheeple in line.
Like some posters said above, who in today's day and age, after Googling them online at all, would even think of joining them? It's as silly as saying people would join Scientology after doing even 5-mins of research on them!!!!
They will sell more and more KH's for profit, leave open only JW Assembly Halls for feel-good and money-making Conventions every 6 months (maybe down to every 3 months, so every quarter JW's get to come together in Brotherhood and donate $$$), and become an entirely online religion who will soon look like the Christadelphians in 20 years, MAX. (aging grey-hairs are the only ones left, repeating "Soon.....any day now.......soon" as they drool into their cereal)

All I know is, 5 months in and I'm ready for Trump to be back in!!!!!! I don't know if the US can survive 4 whole years of this senile moron. I have a feeling that we'll be looking back at the Trump Presidency as "The Good ol' Days" when gas was under $2/gallon, ammo was cheap, jobs were plentiful, terrorists were on the run, and the outlook was bright.
