Drats! What a good program to keep tabs of their secret antics but I need a Mac to run it. No Windows version? I'm sad! (sniff!)

there used to be three videos under "child abuse" in the right column.
the one that isn't linked from there anymore is the "progressive understanding" video.

it was announced at the meeting last night that next week all should be in attendance at the service meeting as a special important letter will be read.
this is in addition to the letter about the district convention.
any idea what it's about?
You will need to fill out the DPA card for your state of residence only. The DPA card is valid indefinitely anywhere in the United States and will serve as a statement of your wishes when you travel internationally. In the future, you should fill out a new DPA card if (1) you need to make any changes to your DPA card, such as changing your wishes, health-care agents, addresses, and telephone numbers, or (2) your DPA card has been lost or destroyed.
Figures! One less thing for them to print every year.
I'm still surprised they haven't figured out how to PDF the thing, stick it on their website, and have the membership download it and print it for themselves and their families. Or have the PO download it and print it for his entire congregation.
Maybe that will come next for something else.
Kind of sad, really. I still keep tabs with some of JW friends. When I talk about all the many cut-backs going on, the layoffs going on at the Bethel homes, and the selling of WTS properties in Brooklyn, I notice a mute concern written on their faces. Something they still can't speak about even now. They can't use the "simpification" line anymore.
most believers think that it's better to practise any religion than to act like an animal and not practise any.. even my dad who used to dislike the jw's when he was alive, told me once, "you're better off going back to that religion, than not practising any religion at all".
i'm a believer like he was, but it's funny how most believers will say that practising any religion is better than not practising any.. jw's wouldn't agree, because they think that only their religion is the right one, even though a wrong religion may have a postive influence on somebody's behavior and happiness.. the only thing a jw looks at is the carrot "eternal life".
they won't look at the good that may come out of practising another religion.. after my jw experience, i won't go to any other religion.
Most believers think that it's better to practise any religion than to act like an animal and not practise any. ...
Depends on the religion and the practice. So you can say that I'm picky. For example, I wouldn't practice a religion that approves of barbecuing humans. I prefer chicken.
More importantly, does anyone care ? LOL... but to answer your question: Saturday, March 22, 2008.
"Field Service" alert! The elders will make sure every JW and their uncles will be out pounding the pavement that morning! LOL
Technically, you count 14 days after the observance of the New Moon nearest the Spring Equinox. Doesn't Nisan 14 fall on Fri, March 21, 2008? Am I missing something?
Personally, I think somebody at the WTS got this calculation wrong. But the WTS is not going to admit to another mistake so they are going to let this one ride.
If they do admit the mistake, I'll be quite impressed! Could be the start of something good.
now don't get all excited, .
this is a research project, not in the actual act itself, but the origin of the term... from whom did the expression "missionary position" surface.
i swear to god that i believed that a missionary first used that expression.
The Witchtower is hereby telling couples exactly what moves they are allowed to do during copulation. They have it narrowed so much that there is only one act that is allowed, and that has to be done in the prescribed manner or else "uncleanness" results. They can't call it "porneia" because they lost that in 1978, so they just call it uncleanness so that couples can get disfellowshipped but not divorced.
And yet they are allowed to molest children, using their bogus authority and in the pretense of a hounding call, with impunity as long as there are not two witnesses to the event.
Which bugs me. During the Bedroom Inquisition Period, how did the local elders know when couples were not doing Watchtower approved copulation?
i know that i don't created a lot of topics but i've been thinking about my feelings towards jw teachings and what i have learned so far from jwd and a couple of other sites.
i always found it hard 2 dismiss what i have learned from the kh and on apostate sites i feel like i'm in a cognitive dissonance, which means uncomfortable tension that may result from having two conflicting thoughts at the same time.
video: hovah means mischief .
Video: HOVAH means MISCHIEF
Oh, I've seen 2Proud2BMe videos (or rants) on YouTube before. She is a former JW that is singing sour grapes and continuing to sing sour grapes. She hasn't moved on and I doubt that she will.
YouTube currently counts that she made 50 videos. Who wants to bet that she'll cross the 100 videos mark all on the same theme? After seeing about three of them, I'd be willing to take that bet!
I find the videos of those that have moved on and are not stuck in bitterness more encouraging than the videos from 2Proud2BMe.
around 30 years ago, an american visitor and his wife attended the meeting at the kingdom hall at mumbai, india.
i may have been in my early teens or younger so i don't remember much.
only that his name was bro hightower and he was president richard nixon's chef.
This thought came to me when I stumbled upon a site that lists 'prominent' JWs. Some of these people have been close to people in power. There are also scores of JWs who are unknown but in close contact with people in power (although this should be the subject of another thread).
Yeah. I saw a website that had a list of prominent JWs - at least the ones that are known. Should be a subject in another thread.
I remember that President Dwight D. Eisenhower's mother was a JW.
any ideas what jws say?
ANY IDEAS WHAT JWS SAY?
Any JW will say, "The Bible doesn't say." And I'd agree with that. I'd say that dead humans, animals, and even plants that drowned would be taken care of by the many many varied kinds of animal and plant organisms in place that work on taking care of such things from the very large who will dispose of such whole to the very small which will disintegrate them bit by bit. Add to that physical actions which will dissolve such if there are in water or weather which will wear them down if such bodies settle on dry land.
i heard that a notice was sent to all boe this month removing "keep on the watch" as the featured january campaign.. can i get confirmation from anyone?.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you, dear reader, happen to have a copy of the Keep on the Watch brochure, please open to page 3. Notice right smack dab in the middle of the page, this statement (Why they couldn't use complete sentences, I don't know. Maybe they didn't have time to do more than mere fragments since Armageddon was so very near.):
"Priests sexually exploit young people; church cover-up. Decline in attendance; church buildings sold."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's the #1 reason for the cancelation. Frankly I'm surprised someone at the WTS was awake at the helm to catch this before the fallout.
They should give that company-man a double-portion of dessert at the next dinner for saving the WTS from going from an embarrising situation to a ridiculous one. But to the WTS's chagrin, the toothpaste is already squeezed out of the tube: The brochures were sent out to the congregations, the KM informed the membership, and I'm sure there were KM skits done on the stage during the Service Meeting showing presentations and highlights.
A campaign cancelled? This is unheard of! Even for me given my many years with the JWs!!!
Some of the more thinking JWs will think, consider what's going on, and add things up. That's good! The others will continue brain-dead as usual.
if anyone doesn't know i posted a blog about the keep on the watch scandel that a lot seem to not care about.... it can be found here.
anyways if you look at the comments one girl strongly "defends" the wts.
well her sister is a wtiness.
Well I like how she accuses me of being angry, yet she is one the who keeps slinging insults.
Burger Time, for what it's worth, I admire the calm, logical yet sensitive approach you handled this. All the facts flew over her head. She is bent on discrediting you, and to an extent the victims, rather than the information and the news coverage. And she doesn't see the difference. Two outcomes: 1) Hope some of this will seed inside her and spring to life under the right conditions for her. 2) Hope for that eureka moment when a bell will finally ring loudly in her head where she realizes that what she is told to believe and do doesn't go hand-in-hand with what the Bible teaches us to believe and do.
