it's at a beach location, somewhere in florida!
i believe that's in the usa.
I am going to try for it! Maybe some of us from Michigan/Ontario area could drive it together?
Keep us posted on the particulars.

well, my husband found out about my affair (yes, i gave in to the temptation with the soccer player and while it was fantastic, it's over now) and it's been a devestating time, we almost got divorced, but we're working through it.
i knew telling friends and this board wasn't going to help me fight his romantic advances, but i tried.
it was a one time thing that would have continued, but i wasn't too careful about the clues (guilty conscience i think).
The discussion of open marriage MUST be done before it starts.
Pierced Angel here, This was not the problem, we discussed things thoroughly. We thought we were so cool and playing a game where we'd have fun, freedom and fantasy fulfilled. There just was no way this would work between two people who had a lot of serious issues to begin with. I'm not going to say I still believe in an open marriage, but I do believe that two people who love each other should be able to always respect each other and not terrorize one another or the marriage is a sham to begin with. Sexual games and cheating just add to the dysfunction. It was one of our last ditch efforts to save a crumbling marriage and I am sorry I ever took part in it. We both got burned. I will say that there are many other issues at play.
Let's see, what have I learned? If your marriage is in trouble, don't bring other people into the picture. Either fix it or get out of it first. Now Joel and I, we're just trying to heal and remain on friendly terms. I should have considered counseling for the two of us a long time ago, but mistakes that can't be fixed have been made.
I guess this was a shared board learning experience. Too bad we didn't take the earlier advice,
Anne
what are your thoughts on home schooling?
we had a few in one congregation i was in that practiced home schooling for their kids.
i kina think home schooling is isolationists and for loons.
I homeschooled my daughter for almost five years. I've seen both sides, being a public schooler myself and it all depends on the parent's commitment to their child and balance in their lives. It was a very postive experience for her and she was suited for it. Lots of extra art, traveling and music were included along with visits to friends so that she could "benefit socially". I started working from home more and more and it became impossible to do it well, so she integrated back into the school system.
One thing I worked hard on was making sure it was never a burden to her. I made sure her teachers knew full well how she'd been educated, taking books and records in with me to share with them. Her transition went very smoothly. Socially, she was and is one of the brightest and most well liked in her class. She was head of the pom pon squad this year, student of the month last month and has straight A marks. When I walk into her school to pick her up sometimes, I hear so many kids saying bye to her and talking to her and she seems so popular. I, as a child, was not like that. I was a witness and I was shy, self conscious, etc. I hated middle school. There are so many things to consider when looking into homeschooling and it certainly isn't for parents that aren't prepared for it or who aren't organized.
I've seen the socially unfit homeschoolers some of you talked about. I've also seen bratty, inconsiderate public schooled children that make me wonder if their parents ever talk to them, let alone help with homework or teach them any manners.
It's a personal decision, one that in most states is monitored to at least some degree. Let's please think about how important it is to preserve the freedom of our choice in the matter. I like having options, don't you?
new years eve is coming up soon, and dede and i plan to party hard.
this will be are first new year that we will not worry about being seen in public.
lord help the state of louisiana!!!
Last year we had a party with some friends that didn't have any plans, sort of an impromptu thing. I made lobster bisque with parmesan puff pastry crackers, steaks and lobster tails and tons of champagne. Oh, my favorite, creme brulee for dessert. Before cooking the lobsters, we let them crawl on the floor much to the terror of the little kids. After the kids all passed out from playing, We adults ;played cards, danced to some good music and had a good, simple evening at home. This year, I'm going to ditch the apron and go out on the town and tear it up!
Have lots of fun, create some wicked memories!
what turns you off and what turns you on?
any subject :).
turn on: a woman who is a lady during the day and a sweet lover at night .
Now that's a picture worth saving. Heaven you are a gorgeous woman!
right now i am so mad!
i am in total road rage mode.
the reason is my job.

I'm struggling with this work stress too! I should be doing quite well, but now I"m in the middle of a divorce and the freelance work that used to be quite lucrative has slowed down a lot and I'm searching for work ALL THE TIME. It's hard when the kids are looking forward to a real christmas and all I can think to do is sell stuff to make money to buy things for them. Hang in there and just when things seem their bleakest, you'll find the perfect opportunity. The key is to keep your eyes and ears open and a positive attitude. You know you can do anything you set your mind to, so just believe in yourself and remember that it's a really difficult time for everyone jobwise. :)
