  The writer of the book of Matthew tried his best to make it as though the character Jesus fulfilled so called prophecies from the old testament. He did a lousy job and this is just another example. Another one is stating that Jesus was a Nazarite but then thinking this must mean he was from an area or city named Nazareth. A Nazarite is a type of person not a person from a place.

  Since man is unable to create life does this mean

  there is plenty of evidence of a slow evolutionary changes over millions of years and i do not disagree with this.

  but again that fact that mankind can not create a living creature from scratch mean there must be a creator?

  I am not saying anything about worshiping a creator, but again if we man with all our intelligence and technology can not take the simple building blocks that make life and create a living being even something as simple as say bacteria, then why can we not then surmise that their must of been a creator of some type to plant the seed of life and give it that boost so that life could then begin in a simple state. This creator could of been an alien or a superior being, who knows but why not?

  Stillin you need to man up, the JW s are going way beyond scripture by stating your not to talk to a df'd one. The only mention of not greeting a person is in 1john and that's about someone not believing in Christ. Tell your wife your not going to do this anymore your daughter was treated badly and either way your not going to shun her anymore. I can't believe your picking this religion over your daughter. I would even take any of my kids over my wife who is still all in.

  the mystery of the ages was revealed to the gentiles 2000 years ago.

  the mystery is "christ in you, the hope of glory" (colossians 1:27).

  the churches do not and never will teach this even though it was revealed to the gentiles.

  Hopeofglory, remember Jesus said if you have faith you can move mountains he also told his followers that he would return before some of them died. Both turned out to be not true so this is the reason why I now worship myself because I don't lie like this.

  Another reason god is a terrible "father"

  its easy to look around and say if a singular all powerful were real he would stop the suffering of man and animal, a position i support.

  however there is another even more basic premise i have pondered at times as well (im sure im not the first of course) : would any loving parent ever hide from their children?

  consider it... our all knowing all loving father hides from us even though we cry out to know him.

  Another thing worth mentioning is he the asshole God wants to kill people. Look at the exodus story, every time the Pharoah was about to let the Israelites go he hardened his heart to the point where he God killed the first born of all Egypt. And then look at the next part where they go into the promise land. The Jews were in the desert 40 years plenty of time to cause a famine or no more water supply in the promise land so the Cannaanites would pack up an leave. But no let just go kill them all. And no he didn't kill them in thier sleep he likes it bloody.

  Yeah this was my big issue all my life, a loving father God but he's never around when you need him abandons mankind leaving us at the mercy of a devil and his demons but we're supposed to love him. I know if I did this to my kids they would continue to love me for all about a year tops them they would chock me up to being an asshole and move on with thier lives but this God's been doing it for thousands of years to the point most people don't even think he exists.

  yet another circuit assembly hall is going to be sold off!.

  they've been reducing the amount of congregations assigned to meet there and using the times when it isn't in use to make repairs.

  elders have now been informed that they are selling off the property and buildings and that circuits would be assigned to attend other sites, twice as far, three or four hours away, like montreal.
