The oldest creation stories about Adam named Adamu both meaning man are Sumerian and Akkadian. But the original poster made a good point. In other civilizations around Judea they all reverred a female diety that was a major part of thier creation myth. The Jews on the other hand were quick to try and get rid of any female diety and made woman just men's property. They may have been the first civilization to treat woman like dirt.

Then again what does the Bible actually say? Oh Jesus told some of his followers he would be back before they tasted death. The writers of the Pauline letters said they expected it at any moment and the revelation writer quotes Jesus saying 5 times in the last chapter of the book that he would be back very very soon. So it not 136 years of expectation but more like 1700 -

Here is the truth, the Jews would have never tride a man during the passover week, never convicted a man for saying he's the messiah many at the time were supposedly doing so and never killed a man on or near passover. Pilate would never have released a man that killed Romans. The Jews would have broken 7 of thier own laws to prosecute and then kill Jesus during this week. There is the Truth!

Paradise is going to suck!
by WasOnceBlind inonce you really start thinking about it, the whole paradise idea is kind of depressing.
i remember growing up as kids my sister was the first to tell my parents (admittedly very courageously) that she wasn't sure she wanted to live in paradise, it sounded boring living forever.
i thought she was dumb for thinking that, i mean playing with lions!!!!

Living forever in Paradise is a Egyptian concept called the field of reeds. The Christians just stole it. One can confirm this by reading the book of the Dead. It's also just plain funny thinking people will live along side furious beasts like lions. Ever see a picture of a sabre tooth tiger, oh yeah they ate just vegetation and will again in Paradise with those huge teeth. -
