The Heavenly Hope -- Simplified Suggestion
by FusionTheism inthe bible says there is just "one hope" for christians (ephesians 4:4).. revelation says god will come down and bring heaven down to earth.
(revelation 21:2-3).
the old testament focuses more on the hope of the earth being a paradise and the new testament focuses more on going to heaven.. but as we can see revelation and ephesians, there is only "one hope," and we will get to experience both the paradise earth and heaven.. i see no reason in the bible why we would need to take the number 144,000 literally in revelation, where almost all the other numbers mentioned are symbolic..

I don't think the Hebrew scriptures ever mention a paradise earth and living forever on it, just a couple of vague scriptures about the meek living on on earth. As far as the NT goes it's clearly all about ones going off to heaven until new Jerusalem comes down but to earth it's clear especially when it's bigger then the earth. Both these concepts come from Egyptian older religious beliefs so I believe the Christians were copying this older religion. -

Get behind me...ERM Satan!
by username inok random thought just popped in my mind!.
if satan was cast down from heaven in 1914 how did he tempt jesus almost 2000 years previously?
surely jeeeeehovah wouldn't have let the evil one reside in heaven for so long?

There are two scriptures in the Bible that imply Satan was cast out of heaven in the time of Jesus being on earth. Just like there are several that imply Jesus was made king back then too. 1914 was simply a cover up, Russell predicted armegedon and they had to scramble to say something else happened that year to distract away from his failed prophecy. So they then said the gentile times has ended and Jesus was made king of course invisibly. -

Biblical Prohecies That Came True?
by Viviane inrecently there have been several claims made regarding prophecies that came true.
i've not personally seen a prophecy that i would consider as having come true.
i would consider the following as the requirements to say something is a prophecy and evaluate whether or not it came true:.

There so many prophecies that did not come true. The destruction of Tyre, Damascus, Jesus coming back before some of them would taste death etc. If only one doesn't come true then the Bible is false and I can think of six just off the top of my head. -

Make friends here, stay focused on school and getting a great education. Stay busy with hobbies and make goals. When your old enough you can move hopefully with a scholarship to a college. Be glad that you're figuring out that your in a cult now and not when you 50. Hang in there. -

They lie about everything, why don’t they lie about annual publisher growth?
by John Aquila injwfacts show that publisher growth was 15% pre- 1975 and has decline to about 2%.
what prevents them from fudging the annual growth and keeping it at something more positive like 10%?.
"a great crowd that no man is able to number".

I think the writing was on the wall maybe after 1995, because after that I believe is when they started simplifying their publications saying they were growing so fast but in reality they knew at that point that they needed to change because people were leaving faster then joining. -

They really don't know how to use just the bible. Their books lay it out for them and scripture flip to get the point across. Discussing the bible one chapter at a time will trip them up. The fact that you want to lay down some ground rules just makes them think your some apostate or born again Christian that's trying to get your point across. They don't want this, this religion is for people that don't have a clue what the bible teaches. Most people that come in to this religion are former Catholics, Mormons attract mostly Baptists. Anyway I would proceed with great caution, this cult really knows how to twist the bible. You may want to ask yourself why you would want to have anything to do with a cult that doesn't follow the teachings of Christ?
