i just started reading the transcript from a 2013 hearing the australian government had with the branch coordinator and their attorney and man the lies just on the first page:;the chair my question is: does the church maintain records on the number, nature and extent as well.

The CHAIR — What does that mean in relation to acting further? What would you do?

Mr T. O’BRIEN — If there were two independent witnesses to the same type of offence — say child sexual

abuse of some kind — then a judicial committee would be formed.

The CHAIR — Do you report that to the police? Sexual abuse is of a criminal nature; would you report that

to the police?

Mr T. O’BRIEN — As we understand, that is within the decision making of the victim, not the minister.

We would encourage the victim, if they want to report it to the police, to certainly do that. The elders would

cooperate fully with the police, and we would never discourage anyone from reporting it to police, but without

mandatory reporting we do not feel that as ministers of religion that is our obligation to do that.

Mr T. O’BRIEN — Yes, they do.

The CHAIR — If so, what does that data tell you? Can you explain a little bit more about those records, the

nature of the abuse and what you actually do about that?

Mr T. O’BRIEN — The purpose in retaining the records is, one, to make sure if a person has been

disfellowshipped or disciplined in the past for child sexual abuse, then it would be extremely unlikely they

would qualify to be used as a minister in the organisation. If there is even a report of an accusation, we maintain

a record of that, because if someone was to move to another congregation, for example, and a similar accusation

came from there, even if it is only based upon one witness, there are two accusations from two different

witnesses. That would be sufficient for us to act further.

Thier consolidation is pointing to something, whether or not thier just being paranoid and greedy about money now because they lost thier shirts in the stock market back in 2008-2009 and then saw how little money they were getting from the r&f when the economy was bad, maybe that's all it is. But they have sold off a lot of assets stolen money from KHs, and are now downsizing thier operations less KHs not paying for missionarys to go to other lands etc. Gilead members being assigned not to other countries but areas in the USA. This is all very telling. This tells me they may not being going anywhere anytime soon but some one has told them that thier growth is over and maybe they have been also told that all Christian growth is over.

I live near Seattle, this city now has a 10% population that are atheists most of any major city in the US. Europe has a huge population that are non religious and with out being total atheists the non religious population of the world is growing by leaps and bounds. Remember thousands of years ago there were thousands of God's, in most parts of the world there is belief now in only one God. Only one God to go.

Band Green Day and JWs

a few years ago i heard of a story about two jw's being at a green day concert.

i think that the witnesses were bethelites.

the person that told me that story said that the band was about to play but they couldn't.

JW Broadcasting is dying.

once a month about 15 to 20 elderly jw publishers would meet at the kingdom hall and one elder was assigned to set up the system so they could view jw broadcasting.

these publishers were long time pioneers, former elders, and long time publishers who know nothing about computers or the internet.

they are the last batch of those expecting the generation that saw 1914 or understood it--- to not die off.

I'm sure there are plenty that still eat up the crap bust most jumped on the band wagon when it was knew then got off, that's what happened with my wife and oldest kid anyway. Let's not forget most would not go to meeting if no one was watching.

i'm finding it more and more funny how every wt article for the public or congregation, including jw broadcast talks about all this "growth" and how fast jehovha's organization is speeding up!

yet everything behind closed doors, insider information, elder letters and sales paint a very different picture.

i have news for you gb members!

The growth is not happening I'm over 45 and most kids when I was a teenager left. My sister is 15 years younger and again most of her friends left. Even when in my 20's and dating I new a lot of young ones that I was friends with. Most even when still in I didn't see telling me after the dating years they left. So with all the young ones in the states leaving thier only growth was from third world countries after Easter Europe flopped. These third world countries have increasing access to the Internet so the growth is drying up thier too, Brazil one example. People are leaving Christianity in droves, this cult too.

is new light original (because it is coming direct from jehovah) or is it leftover from the minds of men?.

watchtower magazine failed to release new light first, before any other religious person or body.

hi folks... i was playing a tiny online ipad multiplayer war game last night and one started a dialogue with a another player i was attacking.

in it he quoted a scripture.. and it turns out he he is a 25 year serving jw.

possibly an elder... well.. i spent 6 hours tapping away with one finger in the chat box until 8am this morning with him about all the issues on sex abuse, the money grab and most importantly the subject of jesus turning his attention to the earth and selecting the then bibles students as his one and only people based on what they were teaching (spiritual food) back then.. he knows nothing about any of the current and historic child sex abuse cases (never heard of candice conti etc) and even less about the insane early teachings or russell etc.. i completely blew his mind in our 6 hour text chat not to mention my index finger nearly falling off!.

There's a you tube chanel called dJW mediafilms something like that. Any there's a video on it where he uses JW own books and the list of babylonian kings listed in those books to show that Jerusalem was destroyed in 587 not 607. It's called JWmediafilms

Family Reuinion and Being Disfellowshipped (sorry...but it's long)

it has been a long looong time since i posted on here, but never ceased reading all the posts and keeping up on the changes that have been going on!

but it just seems that now i have a need to get something off my chest, and this is the one place that will most definitely understand the topic at hand.

i have been disfellowshipped for about 8yrs now, and have dealt with the 'consequences' of that decision: all my so-called friends in the org left and i was also abandoned by my own family.
