  EXACTLY Why JW's Are NOT Christian

  a lot of people, ex-jws, believers and unbelievers alike, think that jw's are just a somewhat kooky brand of christianity.

  is it possible to "try and follow jesus" and not be christian?

  what exactly makes someone a christian?

  JW's do not follow many of the teachings of Jesus, do not see Christ as God or a God. These are two major reasons one could say they are not Christians. They are truly what their name says. They are witnesses about a Cannanite mountain God named El that later came to be known by other names including Jehovah

  Some other things to consider that some of you also have mentioned. On Mike and Kim s YouTube channel they mention how many have contacted them as to quiting the Borg since November 2014. They have nearly 200 on their coffin lid and they have a small subscription numbers. Who knows how many have left compared to the small numbers that have contacted Mike and Kim.

  Also the Pew poll of 2015 shows that the JW's income in the USA is near 30k per household per year, that's below the poverty line for this country. So it also looks like their bleeding members like crazy and no one has any money to donate.

  Borg lays off some workers and starts selling properties, this may be do to major losses by them on Wallstreet.

  Move headquarters to a remote area ofcountry, cults tend to do this when in trouble.

  Gilead graduates no longer assigned to foreign lands.

  Missionarys no longer supported monetarily by the borg

  More branches being sold all over the world.

  Cash grab from all congregations

  Magazines downsized to save money.

  DOs laid off.

  Begging for money becomes more obvious.

  Loans are deleted in favor of pledges

  JW TV introduced apparently to help persuaded people to donate more.

  Royal commission investigates the Borg

  Major Borg beg for money telethon

  All construction except Warwick stopped

  More bethel layoffs and possible major reduction in special pioneers.

  Another reduction in magazines.

  Is this a ruZe or are they really going broke? This list is very telling.

  it's just a general layout of the path i took to becoming an exjw.

  It's interesting how stories can be very similar. I too was doing research with out going to any JW apostate sites. I to realized that their doctrines were way off, my wife like yours reported me to the elders and I was discusted at a memorial talk where a bethelite giving the talk was lieing about judas not being there and I wanted to just yell out, 'you liar'.

  do any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?

  even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.

  the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

  I don't know how many members are in the UK but that doesn't seem like a lot of money from one of their top producing countries. The USA would be first but I figured the UK would be second followed by maybe Germany, Canada France etc. Maybe they really are having tough time collecting funds from the poor, what a surprise.

  in view of the recent financial pressures being spun as opportunities to hasten armageddon, i think we should look again at the meaning behind their cultic warning of "all must be ready to obey intructions, whether appearing sound or not".

  by dripping these creepy injunctions into the watchtower study and therefore into the conditioned and receptive mind of the jw, how long will it be before they are able to decree something like this?......

  i just read an email from a friend, and she shared some very interesting emails from her friends about information on changes now happening at the bethels around the world.

  ---------------------------------thanks sally, jesus is directing the org and all decisions and instructions to us may not seem practical from now on, neither will we understand the reasonings behind many of the changes that the organization makes.

  It's looking pretty obvious that this is a cost cutting maneuver. Maybe the loan forgiveness pledge plan back fired and they are not getting anywhere near the money they thought. They may have also not stole as much money from the congregations as they hoped for. In the end being a religion that has lied all these years stating money was never their concern didn't need or want it has come back to bite them. Their members are poor their congregations are poor and only the equity in the properties in New York made them solvent. Maybe just hopefully their solvency is gone.

  seriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.

  it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.

  they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

  Any thoughts on the real reasons for droppng the 'school"

  my thoughts are.

  1. they want to avoid being made to comply with any laws that come with anything classed as a "school" especially a school with children enrolled.. 2. the mid-week meeting has been dying in the ass for years and needs a revival.

  i predict happy -clappy-sing-a-longs to be included in the program.. anyone else have any thoughts ??
