They are not closing just have to change the way they do business. They loose money printing so their going to video it's a lot less expensive. They are consolidating kh's because that will allow them to make the most money per building the rest will be sold. It also will make it look as though people are still coming to the halls. Real-estate may also be looked at as a bad idea because they maybe able to make a better return on investment investing somewhere else. Also the buildings they build are not very attractive to the rest of the world. So I believe they will continue to suck money from the rank and file and invest it somewhere until there's nothing left to suck.

Tired of the truth... Tired of doubting
by Deltawave ini'm reaching out here, i've known ttatt for about 3-4 years now.
sadly when i first grasped it i had a total mental breakdown as i was a hard core firm to the core pioneer and 110% believer of my faith.!
now nearly 2years on after my breakdown i still have to attend to please my jw wife.

(they were told it has to do with branches closing down, missionaries being sent home, etc).

are there really 8 million jw's?
by wannaexit inlast circuit assembly there was 700+ present and 1 baptized.. recently there was a foreign language assemble of over 500 and 1 baptized.. in the last 5-10 years i haven't been to one assembly where there has been more than a handful baptized.
at the memorial all i see are the same old faces that have been coming since the flood.. the hall complex i attend has 6 congregation and several groups-there is negative growth.
when you factor in the demographically aging folk and the many who have already passed away, i don't know where they get the 8 million.. i know that most of the growth is from the developing countries, but still i think they are fudging their numbers.

the numbers are fudged all the way from the congregations up through the time slips. The counters at the halls now count every one that's attending even babies. Same with the assemblies etc. Remember that they count every one that's a publisher, even little kids. -

A question for the shunned re: hide or seek
by dubstepped inso here's my question as a newly daed person that is summarily shunned.
do you hide from family and act like you don't exist or do you let them know you're still here and seek them out?
they want you to be dead, like you no longer exist, because strict avoidance makes it easier on them.

The ass holes at my hall stopped calling and would have nothing g to do with me after I quit while learning some ttatt, thanks to all the gossip. Yet they sure don't mind borrowing things from me through my wife of course. In fact one has had my car for three months while their car is being rebuilt. Also haven't got my tile saw back and I know I have lost lawn tools that have gone to the kh and not been returned. -

I went down in the first Round!
by John Aquila inthere is a visitor brother in town and from what ive been told, he has been a missionary for many years and they were having a get together for him.
i took my mom to that get-together yesterday and stayed for a few minutes.
i heard a group around a table with the visitor brother talking about how hard it was getting in the world with so many distractions and that many of the brothers were falling into the trap and leaving jehovahs organization.

It just goes to show if one is going to ask a question in a group of JW's he are she needs to know the answer before hand and have a strategy in place on how to lead the conversation until you can run them into your point. It's hard, they have had over 100 years of getting their excuses in order. -

Someone posted here a month ago or so that they were about to be down graded. that along with them having to pay on a call or some other note because they lost money on Wallstreet is a possibility. These guys are acting like they have a gambling problem and are having to sell off property etc to keep from having their knees broken
