Proof that the lingiusts are lying about words used in the bible IE: Shaddai, Angels, Elohim, Yhwh?
by Crazyguy inin 1967 an archeologist found at tell el-deir alla an inscription that they called the book of balaam son of beor.
this looks to be about the same balaam that's talked about in the bible book of numbers.
remember the guy where his donkey is talking to him.

In 1967 an archeologist found at Tell El-Deir Alla an inscription that they called the Book of Balaam Son of Beor. This looks to be about the same Balaam that's talked about in the bible book of Numbers. Remember the guy where his donkey is talking to him. Anyway these fragments where dated to about 800 BCE which makes them a bit older then the oldest ever found fragment of the bible, a silver cylinder with a verse from Numbers written on it. These fragments found in 1967 are not verses found in the bible.
What's interesting to me is in these writings Balaam is talking about the Elohim the gods, in plural. He also mentions these gods as Shaddai gods. In my studies I have discovered that the word Shaddai, most likely does not mean Almighty, which is what bible linguists will tell us, but in fact Shaddai means mountains. The word Elohim, which we have been told means God, but just in a more awesome sense, that's why its used in a plural way, in fact means exactly what the word really implies, Gods. These writings found in 1967 seem to prove this once and for all.
This understanding goes hand in hand with what was found at Ugarit, that El was the most high god, created offspring other gods some of which resided on the mountains. These gods were referred to as Elohim and when we see the word angels in the old testament this is also incorrect these are in fact also the gods, not lowly flying messengers with wings. Then last but not least YHWH the sign we have always been told was a symbol for the name of the one true god could be in fact stand for a, family of Gods. Below is the text found in 1967
When put together, the fragments tell the story of a prophet, Balaam son of Beor, had a vision in which the people would be chastised by a fiery judgment:
The misfortunes of the Book of Balaam, son of Beor. A divine seer was he. The gods came to him at night. And he beheld a vision in accordance with El’s utterance. They said to Balaam, son of Beor: “So will it be done, with naught surviving. No one has seen [the likes of] what you have heard!” Balaam arose on the morrow; He summoned the heads of the assembly to him, And for two days he fasted, and wept bitterly. Then his intimates entered into his presence, and they said to Balaam, son of Beor, “Why do you fast, and why do you weep?” Then he said to them: “Be seated, and I will relate to you what the Shaddai gods have planned, And go, see the acts of the god!” “The gods have banded together; The Shaddai gods have established a council, And they have said to [the goddess] Shagar: ‘Sew up, close up the heavens with dense cloud, That darkness exist there, not brilliance; Obscurity and not clarity; So that you instill dread in dense darkness. And – never utter a sound again!’ It shall be that the swift and crane will shriek insult to the eagle, And a nest of vultures shall cry out in response. The stork, the young of the falcon and the owl, The chicks of the heron, sparrow and cluster of eagles; Pigeons and birds, [and fowl in the s]ky. And a rod [shall flay the cat]tle; Where there are ewes, a staff shall be brought. Hares – eat together! Free[ly feed], oh beasts [of the field]! And [freely] drink, asses and hyenas!” Heed the admonition, adversaries of Sha[gar-and-Ištar]! … skilled diviner. To skilled diviners shall one take you, and to an oracle; To a perfumer of myrrh and a priestess. Who covers his body with oil, And rubs himself with olive oil. To one bearing an offering in a horn; One augurer after another, and yet another. As one augurer broke away from his colleagues, The strikers departed … The Admonitions are Heeded; The Malevolent Gods are Punished, the Goddess Rescued, and the Land Saved They heard incantations from afar … Then disease was unleashed And all beheld acts of distress. Shagar-and-Ištar did not … The piglet [drove out] the leopard And the … drove out the young of the … … double offerings And he beheld … -

Did an EX-JW wake you up to TTATT or did you put the effort to wake up yourself?
by John Aquila inhow many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.
how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.
how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

I first put my entire trust in jehovah, left my family and my trade drove 3 thousand miles away to start a new profession with some brothers. I convinced myself that the reason for my struggles was that I didn't put enough trust in God and let him carry my yoke. So here I am in a new state new trade and new business and of course despite prayer and going out in service as much as possible and making all the meeting etc. I was getting no help. Also I was having thoughts about how can God be so loving yet abandon everyone for thousands of years kinda thoughts.
So I'm going out in service with my friend and business partner and he's jokingly calling it a cult got talking about the generation that wouldn't pass away etc. And he tells me his brother was thier at bethel when all those people on that 1984 wt cover were there and got to see them all die. On top of that out in service met some people that were going to a church that taught stuff similar to our stuff and I was surprised that we were not so different after all. Then went to DC and good old brother Lett spills the beans in a talk admitting to the fact that most everyone at bethel thought they end was coming in 1975, what, weren't we told that it's was the elders and some rogue Co's that were saying this not bethel?!
I came back home after a bust of new business venture,, I guess jehovah thought it was a bad idea. Then the last straw after doing research about the religion avoiding apostate sites was I started a study with my neighbor, he wanted to study the book of Revelations, the one in the Bible not the JW book. But I was pre-studying the revelation climax book before hand so I could be prepared. As I studied it became embarrassing to me what these men were writing in this book. I became a Christian for a short while having a better understanding of what the Bible writer were trying to convey concerning love and Christ, until I saw a post about the Cannanite God El.

I post here a lot but online on other sites not much at all. I have posted over the last two years or so comments on YouTube. Usually a comment or a question concerning something I watched. I do not have a website a blog or any YouTube videos and I figures my total posts are less then 50 probably closer to 25. So yesterday I reviewed my Google plus account for some reason and noticed over 18k views of my comments. These numbers are huge for little old me. I have commented some what on apostate videos but most comments are related to video about ancient religions, Egyptalogy, and archeology.
So if I can make just a few comments and get this number of views imagine what the JW's could get if each one went on the Internet and made comments about thier faith and thier version of the good news. The fact that they don't and are encouraged not to by the Borg is immense proof that they are a fraud and know it. It's also gives me great hope that if we as apostates post on line and make comments exposing the Borg for what it is and post what we know on every type of related site or video there's no chance for these guys. They will slowly dry up and die and that's a great thing. The Internet possibly the greatest invention by man ever because of the knowledge that is at ones fingertips.

I think the gb read the same survey I did where it stated that only 16% of people change religions or leave and of that 16 % only 3% actually change to a new religion. The rest just leave religion altogether. -

Has anyone noticed how in the October JW Broadcast, Losch encourages good works towards ALL people?
by Tenacious ini can't help but notice how this past year alone has seen the gb start to turn more towards the teachings of the christ instead of peddling their falsities.. study articles have talked in length about the fine works of christ.
assemblies have been dedicated to speaking about christ.
and this month's broadcast is about doing good to others copying the example christ left for us.. what's more shocking is that losch actually says kids should speak, share, and even give food and clothing to non-believers!!

The assignment of these back to thier home countries and the fact that all missionaries have to be self sufficient is proof that jehovah's organizations cares more about money then spreading it's good news. The reduction of special pioneers makes it even more obvious. They realize that new ones from areas like Africa makes them no profit. -

If you were ‘God’, what would you do?
by JWchange inthis post is not meant to be blasphemous to non-atheists on this forum , just philosophical.
i refer to a god rather than the creator.
it;s 10,000 years in the future and you are a phd student with a brain the size of a planet, that has incredible technology at your fingertips to create life, similar to humans living today or better, intelligently and physically.

This was always my problem with being a JW, couldn't justify the actions of this Bible God killing people and then letting others suffer for thousands of years to prove we need him when he never did one positive thing for mankind in the first place. Also the fact that this God seems to love death, human and animal sacrifices and the smell of burning flesh. I have more love in my left nut then this God has ever shown to anyone. So I no longer worship him.
