If I've been testy lately, here's why.
by cappytan inmy parents are visiting for not-thanksgiving.
dad started bringing up spiritual stuff and i almost screwed up my fade.. it's so hard to have a genuine discussion about the issues in the organization when you have become an atheist.
it feels icky and disgusting to have to pretend and nod your head at such platitudes as "you just need to have faith"..."trust in jehovah"..."jehovah will correct it"..."remember ray franz?

Cracked under pressure
by breezy ina big problem i have always had when talking about anything related to jw teachings, is that i get aggravated and frustrated when logical black and white concepts/scriptures are not seen/interpreted in a logical way.
it really frustrates me having to hear '' oh no this does not apply here '' in every scripture that i bring to my parents attention.
starting from when i was 16 to about 20, my frustrations would lead to these anger fits.

In the future you may have to stay on one point. That is your trying to live your life like they way Jesus taught and the fruitages of the spirit whyll your folks and their friends ie the jws live a life of outword appearances and superficial works like meeting attendance, answering questions to a third grade magazine and knocking on empty doors all the while forgetting about love. -

ATT: WARNING
by EJ257 inplease be aware of everything that is happening around the world at this moment in time.
this goes to anyone, ex-communicated, removed, serving, believer and non.
at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.

The Ages Of The Biblical Patriarchs
by JW_Rogue inso i've been reading the imitate their faith book (because my wife wants to) and keep coming upon these ridiculous ages for the bible patriarchs.
now i know wt takes everything literally but there has got to be some explanation that makes more sense.
why would the bible writers create these obviously false ages?

I think it comes from the Sumerian kings list. These guys ruled for 20 plus thousand of years each. Also thier is another list from sumeria where the names are different written in akkadian but the list translates by what each name means to hebrew exactly. These names are all from Adam to Noah. So it's clear these names were taken from a Sumerian story just like the flood story. -

The fraud that is the WT member numbers
by Crazyguy inok i'm just thinking out load here so to speak.
but let say in the year 2000 the wt says they have 1 million publishers and at the end of the year they say they had 300,000 people get baptized so in the beginning of the year 2001 they show 1,300,000 publishers.
then in this new year they state another 300,000 get baptized but with 50,000 deaths and 50,000 disfellowshippings they stated at the end of year 2001 a total of 1,500,000 total members.

But wait a minute, the in the two years they report both 2000 and 2001 a total of ones baptised as 600,000 , 300,000 per year. But here is the thing, these baptised we're formally publisher's most likely kids and we're reported as such. So from the publisher ranks already counted they get baptized and are again counted. Does the WT make the proper adjustment in their numbers? I think no would be the answer, because if 300k we're once publishers then baptized would not they amount be zeroed out the next year? Or am I missing something? I smell a rat. -

Decrease of numbers in Jehovah's Witnesses via Deaths, DFings, or Turning Inactive
by flipper inso i'm sure a good number of us saw the chart that i believe the poster splash put on another thread of figures since 1990 regarding how many baptized and % of increase each year .
i started analyzing it ( and i know some referred to it briefly on the other thread ) and guessing of reasons the % of increase didn't match the number of newly baptized.
and of course common sense tells us that either jw's leave the cult each year through death, fading into inactivity, or getting dfed.

One figure I was thinking about that scews the numbers is publishers. When a publisher gets baptized he is counted as a baptism maybe even counted twice that year but then the following year would the number then not have to go down because he is only counted as a publisher? -

Show your mom mark 7:18 where nothing taken in by a man can defile him. Matt 12 7-8 we desire mercy not sacrifice. Then show her the km we're the Borg says cows blood is OK. -

Should Jehovah`s Witnesses be worshiping Jehovah ? or Jesus.
by smiddy injehovah`s christian witnesses , as they like to be known as , used to worship jesus in earlier times ,but now they do not worship jesus .
they worship a god named jehovah , who they admitted in the first edition of " aid to bible understanding " was not the correct pronunciation of the tetragrammaton `s four letter hebrew letters that represented god` name , by the way , a catholic monk of the 13th century came up with jehovah by just adding a couple of vowels.. to those four hebrew letters .which has since been revised to correctly translate the tetragrammaton as yhwh and many scholars put this name more accurately as yahweh or something more similar.. fact 1 .
the tetragrammaton does not appear in the " kingdom interlinear of christian greek scriptures " printed by the wtb&ts , a word for word translation of the greek scriptures.

I don't believe the early Christians we're ever worshipping the father god the Creator. They we're worshipping this new god that was exalted to the highest place for his act of sacrifice. He becomes the alpha and omega, lord or lords king of kings. This is a throw back to Marduk or Hadad, they did the same conguered death and evil and became in doing so the top God of their Pantheon. -

Jehovah's Witnesses May Have Peaked in Membership at 8 Million (+/-)
by OnTheWayOut ini don't have all the details of their new "service year" numbers, but i have read enough on jwn to state my opinion pretty strongly.. memorial attendance for 2015 was down.while they kept saying they were going to build a bunch of new kingdom halls, and everybody is still in recovery from watchtower taking all the local money away, they say pretty much that there isn't enough money to build new kingdom halls.putting gb members on the videos at jw .
org has allowed people to really put a face and personality to these guys and remove the mystery of how they should be such deeply spiritual serious men.
instead they see silly thoughts about tight pants and, really everything that comes out of lett's mouth is delivered ultra-goofy, along with the money reports.. the gb lost credibility a little more with every new light that shone down, with the strangest one being "overlapping generation.

To me, the tell tale sign was a couple of years ago when they stopped financially supporting the missionary's. Now this news out of India that they have pulled the plug their too. Probably in a lot of other places as well and we have not heard about it yet. Its like Starbucks putting new stores all over the world in places like Chad, Bolivia, and Bangladesh. Then realizing later that no one there likes coffee or can even afford to buy it. So now Starbucks has to take a loss sell off all these stores and run back to the markets where they can still make money. The Borg is attempting to do the same. But here's the reality, where most of the reported growth has come from in the past decade has come from these places their pulling away from. So unless they lie about the numbers, which I'm sure they will do or are already doing the numbers will go down.
