  son of thunder is saying he has relatives that we're running bethel in egypt for years and they have been let go reassigned as special pioneers yet according to him this job no longer pays a wage.

  he also states that 5000 total bethelites world wide are being let go.

  My boyfriend is thinking of becoming reinstated

  i'm not really sure where to post this.. i've been with my boyfriend for 4 months now and i've really never been happier.

  i was brought up in the church of christ with an elder father and i really believe in my religion, although i will admit to being a lousy christian at times due to sheer laziness (not wanting to get out of bed on sunday).

  my boyfriend essentially lives with me.

  If he's going to do it just for family then leave again then you maybe fine. But it would be good on your part to reinforce his willingness to leave by showing him that his cult is that and also wrong and not gods only organization. Go to jwfacts.com. he needs to get out metally.

  He makes some very good points that they of course don't get. The leaders of the cult have taken away from the rank and file their salvation as a gift, their new covenant and their Christianity. They in fact, are not Christians and not even alien residents in the new covenant. They are just chattel wondering about hoping arrogantly to get into the kingdom, yet they do nothing that christ's says to do to get into the kingdom. I was pissed to find this out when I was waking up and becoming what I would call a true Christian. If you are still bible believers you should really look into this because the Org. has it all wrong.

  One last but very important point that he in all his education does not know. In Revelations 5:9-10 in the original Greek it does not say they will rule as kings but reign as priests only (the word reign is also significant and should be looked at), and for still in JW's the verse also says on the earth in the original Greek not over the earth. So they will reign as priests on the earth, is the original Greek. This is a throw back to the original verse in the book of Duet, I believe, where it says they (Israel) will be a kingdom of priests a royal nation.

  after lurking on this site for a year or so i have noticed a number of new poster's including me.

  but does this indicate a massive departure for the exit?

  In the past there was always a percentage of kids that would leave and not come back same with adults and those that we're dfd. Now the numbers of those are up I believe and of course the numbers of new ones coming from the world are way down. The internet and their crazy doctrines along with science, evolution, etc are some of the many reasons for this. Its becoming obvious to me that as time goes on with the death of the members and those leaving that they will in fact and probably already have seen a decrease in members in the western world. The signs are there too. Consolidation of halls, money, etc.

  Its the same as why the Borg doesn't talk much doctrine anymore. All there doctrines have been so blown up by apostates and Christians that they don't dare talk about them. Proof is always in how the Borg acts and responds that's the tell tale sign.

  I can see how the change can be exploited the words " profit" and "merchandise". They could then say all that is yours you followers of the slave is our and should be handed over at anytime we say, since you are our slaves.

  Lets also not forget that in breast milk there's about 1 million white blood cells per drop. So if the Creator didn't want us eating blood then why put it in milk?

  what is the purpose of preaching if not for converts?.

  basically, preaching by the jw's is to make converts.

  this in itself implies that jehovah's witnesses believe that they alone have the only acceptable way to god and that everyone else is just not worthy.

  An elder said it was for strengthing the faith the last time spoke with them at my JC. I told them since the internet and YouTube no ones joining so what's the point. But the original poster is correct, the good news is Christ even Paul said he doesn't preach where Christ has already been preached.

  The fraud that is the WT member numbers

  ok i'm just thinking out load here so to speak.

  but let say in the year 2000 the wt says they have 1 million publishers and at the end of the year they say they had 300,000 people get baptized so in the beginning of the year 2001 they show 1,300,000 publishers.

  then in this new year they state another 300,000 get baptized but with 50,000 deaths and 50,000 disfellowshippings they stated at the end of year 2001 a total of 1,500,000 total members.

  Upon further research it does seem as though my info was wrong on the death rate I should of listed about 9 not 18. Anyway that still accounts for nearly half the number of ones no longer counted. That too seems to be way to high, also I believe in the western part of the world the death rate of JWs is probably higher then the average do to poor health aged population etc. With all the talk of congregations dropping in other threads it's even more proof their numbers don't add up.

  Walking a thin line - Resigning Elder

  warning of a long boring post ahead.

  i feel like i need to vent my story out, as i feel quite helpless at the moment.. i'm 31 year old, married, father of toddler with another one on the way, due later this month.

  i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.

  My advise is stay in for your family and friends. Use family worship night to teach all the things the Borg doesn't teach concerning Jesus, love, not judging, love and more love. Teach your kids all of Jesus so called commandments. I'm no longer a believer in the Bible but still think this is the best way to wake up your wife and gets your children out. Planting seeds and asking questions too but one has to be careful not to push to much. While doing this make friends with non witnesses. Make a 10-15 year goal to have your wife and kids out. I did the exact opposite and ran as soon as I new it was all a lie. They marginalize you when you do this and say and do things to alienate you from your family so I have a big up hill battle. Unfortunately I do not have any advise on how to get through the meeting when you know it's all BS , I couldn't do it. Maybe smoking some pot before hand, good luck and welcome.
