Hello, fairly new, studying for around 7 months, just thought I would introduce myself.

Take it slow Conan and do your research, joining a religion is like dating. When you go out on dates with someone they usually act great and you see only the best side of the person all the flause in the person they don't want you to see it only after you have been with the person a long time even after getting married until the bad side of the person comes out. Would it not be great to see all sides of the person before you committed to them so you new what you we're getting into.

So again do your research, the people your studying with will only present the good side and may not even know about the other side but you can find out so as to make the right decision for you.

They don't want to spend a dime on something that's a waste of time. They know it's not going to affect the believer's. They could be told just to hand out toothpicks and they would do so thinking there was a plasible reason.

what buzz word from the jw's do you hate & why?

so my hubby has been on a bit of a roll about the jdubs, we were talking a lot about them & he said the buzz word he hate's the most is "worldly" why?

because he say's "with that one word they have condemned (according to their believes) a person as being worthy of nothing but death.

".

Jehovah, because they say it as if he's only for them, but also what the name represents. A big fat lie and an evil make believe God that has killed more people then all the fake demons and devils combined.

by this one concession s/he assigns him-/herself by every single jw to their handy and dismissive purgatory: the "spiritually-weak.".

The last time I went I ate and drank mostly out of spite but also I knew what the Bible writers we're implying. So yes if your going to go eat and drink as a protest, otherwise going isn't doing anyone any good.

the bible does connect egypt and israel (including judah), but does not tell the truth about the connection.. an exhibition at the israel museum tells a clearer story.. it tells of two periods of connection;.

the first connection around 1800 to 1550 bce when canaanites settled in the eastern section of the nile river delta.

it seems this is the era that saw the development of stories like the joseph story and the mose's story.

There is a Scripture where the lord is with Judea yet he was not able to defeat the peoples of the valley or coast because they had chariots. You make a good point since the time of chariots Israel had never won a battle. It took tanks before they had any success.

there's two sides to the explanation of petrified wood not sure yet about what creationists say about petrified dung.

on one side evelutionists say it's a long process the creationists say it happen rapidly caused by noah's flood and after.

has anyone really looked into this argument to see if there a decisive way to show the bible believers wrong.

Has anyone really looked into this argument to see if there a decisive way to show the Bible believers wrong. Rapid petrification does seem possible with hot mineral water. Is this a stalemate of an argument? Maybe animal dung is a better way to go, I have read that they have found remains of animal bones in the dung showing animal ate meet before the flood, but not sure if animal dung can be petrified faster then evelutionists claim.

i read in a european ex jw forum that this year they are making a special effort to invite not only the inactive but also a special effort is made to invite all disfellowshipped.

.

i don't know if this as always been a common practice, or something started anew so they can boast about the numbers of attendees..

I think they say it but don't actually do it. No ones contacted me, the ones I've seen come that we're dfd or inactive came because family asked them to not the elders.

it's not good enough to believe in god just because you were raised to believe in god.. (from the article).

but god wants those who worship him to have genuine confidence in his existence and in his love.. then it goes on to tell us how we can get that genuine confidence that there is a god.

well when one studies the languages of the near east he will find that all the languages we're from one common language akkadian.

all semedic and even sanskrit can be traced back to akkadian.

Oppostate, the information I have read states that Sanskrit is related to Akkadian, maybe it is maybe not, the Hittite language is not which I stated but they did write in Akkadian. Wasn't the point of the story to get people to not be able to cummunicate so they would leave. Side piont I know the story is really a rip off a a story about the God enki changing the language of one city in ancient Sumeria. But again study the languages of the Levant and you'll see no sudden dramatic change.

Well when one studies the languages of the near east he will find that all the languages we're from one common language akkadian. All semedic and even Sanskrit can be traced back to akkadian. The Hittites which spoke more of a European style language still wrote and could understand Akkadian. The evolution of the languages show just that, languages that evolved over time, not a sudden we're speaking English and now Chinese like the Bible would have you believe. This area of the world wrote in Akkadian all the way up until the Greek conquest by Alexander. If you do not want to believe in the evolution of the human species then consider the evolution of language.
