  I just don't understand this, what am I missing???

  as i am watching this video about changes at bethel, the speaker said, "aren't we glad the faithful and discrete slave continues to make adjustments when necessary.

  what about this change?

  "finally, we examined why jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation" that is from this online watchtower article last paragraph: https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20130715/jesus-prophecy-last-days/ .

  I think thier still saying Jesus picked them just at he hasn't given them thier reward yet, which will be a swift trip to hell.

  I think you're missing the real reason which is legal by separating themselves as much as they can from the flock from the congregations and from the elders they think they're going to be a less liable when their sued for pedophilia .

  My thoughts on the shunning part at the convention

  the wts has gone off the rails and is "unrepentantly" hateful.

  they are blatantly requiring mothers and fathers to disown/hate their own children that they have loved and cared for since birth simply because they don't comply with the orgs demands.

  how is this love?

  Jws have become very insular Now and yes they seem to not want to share anything unless they have to at or during thier special time for service. It's weird how many times you hear stuff like don't record this meeting or share your notes etc. Crazy

  Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline

  i was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.

  until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.

  but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

  I read a survey once that said 16% of people only 16% actually change thier religious affiliation most actually just leave religion altogether 3% are the only ones that actually change to another religion of course of the 3% how many would actually want to join a cult like a Jehovah's Witnesses

  Feeling Sad After Uncovering TTATT

  my initial pangs of unease and doubt led me to research some things.

  well, a lot of things really.

  i've never felt comfortable using the bible to try to calculate dates (1914).

  It's not only sad depressing and also shocking, you'll probably develop PTSD too. It sucks but hopefully your young enough to get on with your life learn from it and enjoy yourself in the future living your life to the fullest. Hang in there they say it gets easier over time.

  there are threads on the content of the rc and reaction of awake jws here, but how are indoctrinated jws reacting to the convention.

  my family and i have not attended yet, but i am bracing myself for it.

  A watcher, saying no other religion has the true nature of these spiritual things , is very judge mental. Jesus said not to judge or exalt yourselves, so I guess you don't have a true spiritual understanding of jehovah and Jesus after all and because of this your personal relationship with jehovah and Jesus is not what you think. In fact Jesus maybe really up set with you right now.

  I thought the part was stating to only shun those doing serious sinning or wrong doing ? If I'm correct how can this be construed to mean to shun family or friends that just don't go. By the way they shun you anyway when they know you don't go to the meetings any more so not sure how this changes anything.

  How to shake up Jdubs...

  i didn't attend the meeting last night, but my in husband came home and was quite shocked because there was a letter announcing that there will be no wt-library cd-rom any more, and..... no more calendar.. he said there was a lot of talking and noise when that was announced.. i didn't expect the calender to go, by the way.

  and my husband sounded really concerned, talking about how society is cutting down.

  i love it when he says with a tone of surprise in his voice: 'you were right, now they want us to do everyting digital, and throw out the printed stuff.

  According to thier last report the jws are loosing 250k per year that's a lot of people in let's say a decade. How long can they loose this many and not be hurt big time financially , so it makes sense that thier cutting back and selling off .
