Isn't there a scripture that says that blood is to be poured out and wasn't it not to long ago jws were not to use any medical device that stored or recovered blood because of this scripture? Is this not more hypocrisy?

according to acts 15, the meeting at jerusalem boldly declared that god's holy spirit issued a formal resolution counselling christians to "abstain from meats offered to idols and from blood, and from things strangled, and from formication", yet in 1 corinthians chapters 8 &10 paul set the holy spirit-issued resolution of the jerusalem meeting regarding the eating of meat sacrificed to idols aside:.

"concerning the eating of food offered to idols … some, because of their former association with the idol, eat food as something sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

but food will not bring us nearer to god; we are no worse off if we do not eat, nor better off if we eat.

Who's to say the book of acts was written before the book of Corinthians. It's like dealing with the proclamations made at the Nicea in 325 called the nicean creed. Why did the bishops even have to deal with the issues about christs divinity , for the book of John told them or maybe it's because the book of John hadn't been written yet.

Sounds like if you weren't found out and exposed you and the wife could of maybe just faded and moved away from her parents all would be fine. Unfortunately nothing ever goes smoothly when your waking up in a cult, to much emotion.

WTS Rich or Hurting for $$$

seen a few discussions asking if the wts are hurting for $$ or still sitting on a mountain of gold.. regardless of their child abuse legal fees and ongoing broadcasting for more dough, i believe they have piles and piles of cash.. talked with a diff'd accountant who sat in the accounting dept.

at the conventions for years.. a football stadium (or the like) costs them about $70 - 90,000 to rent for a 3 day dub show.

they take in $400,000 in donations from the r&f.

They sold off many of thier buildings in New York so no thier not hurting anymore. They have also downsized costs. Now it's about long term survival for them. You can tell someone is running the show that's not the GB. I think thier biggest concern is falling membership. Most countries don't have the money to give and the US members are becoming poorer and poorer.

The number of US members that are of Latin decent and probably illegals are becoming the major population of jws in the coming years. So in the end it's about falling numbers of members that's driving thier decisions. I bet they have less then 4 million adult baptized members that are actually in a position to give money if they wish. 4 million and falling!

a friend of mine told me about a huge elders meeting in southern california.

the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.

I father died broke homeless and destitute same with my mother in law. You can thank the Borg for that. My father in law will also die broke only my mother thanks to worldly money will not. I have a sneaky suspicion that any money she has left over will go to my sister which is fine by me!

All in all I think most jws die the way my father did with no money to give to anyone let alone the cult.

Finding out that jws are not what they make out to be

*warning this is long* it all started on the last day of the "remain loyal to jehovah" convention.

a little background story, i've been raised as a jw, been in and out of the religon, never baptised but was made an unbaptized publisher about 3 years ago, always felt out of place in the congregation, blamed myself for this because if i had just went to meetings and did all the right things then i would have friends and not be in the mess that i was.

right after becoming an unbaptized publisher i met my now fiance, end up leaving my mother's house to live with him, elders haven't contacted me about my situation even though i'm sure they know as my step father is an elder...but anyway on the last day of the convention my fiance came with me as i was visiting my mother and had planned to go with her and her husband to the convention.

The way your fiancé was treated should be enough for you to understand that the JW religion is nothing like what the character Jesus was teaching. If you fiancé is as great of a guy as you say he is then be with him, be loyal to him and tell him your done with the Cult of Jehovah Witnesses. You only live once, don't waste time.
