Once I found out about how the Borg cared more about thier real estate holdings in Mexico then how jws could worship, then it became clear to me that they would lie about anything including thier numbers.

Official Increase in the Number of Jehovah's Witnesses You Shouldn't Trust
by David_Jay inreports are coming from witnesses that, once again, the number of memorial partakers has risen considerably this past year, 2016. while confirmation is still to come on the exact numbers, the current explanations given for this increase surely causes a dilemma.. imagine the roman catholic church publishing each year the number of members who it felt were mistaken about what they believed in, that this same number of members was likely suffering from problems such as pride or even mental disorders or something along this line.
this number, by the way, was in the thousands too and growing annually.
what would you conclude, therefore about the catholic church and its admission?.

Why didn't God also reveal himself to the Canaanites just as he did to Moses in the burning bush?
by deegee inwhy didn't god also reveal himself to the canaanites just as he did to moses in the burning bush so that the massacre/genocide of the canaanites could have been avoided?.
why didn't god also invite the native palestinians into his covenant, giving them the same laws he gave the israelites, and establish an egalitarian society where people of all races could live together in harmony?.
instead, he ordered his people to invade and slaughter the natives, killing them to the last man, woman and child, specifically instructing them to show no mercy to anyone under any circumstances.

History shows that the only major exodus from Egypt was the Hyksos. They were pushed out of Egypt by a king named Ahmose and a ancient historian named Manetho according to Josephus said they went to Jerusalem.
I don't think the archaeological record confirms that these people went to Jerusalem do to its small size and population but these people must of traveled east. Anyway legends can sometimes are based on some truth.

Because it was a made up story and no exodus from Egypt happen like what is written in the Bible and the Israelites didn't invade Palistine and kill and conquer a bunch of people it was just the authors delusional story.

Need input: elders showed up at our door today
by de-opresso-liber inso as i announced last week, my wife and i started our fade and i sent in a letter to our body that i was stepping down and cited the arc as the reason and insisted that we not be bothered.
my wife told a few relatives in person that we weren't going to attend meetings any longer (immediate shunning occurred, the new videos must be effective) and that what we found with the arc shocked us etc etc.
i have an inside track on how this is all going down by an awake elder on the body, co told them to handle the matter quickly.

I'm seeing that now they move quick to kill the problem JW. In my local area a brother just asked a few questions and had a discussion with his elder at his house. Before he knew it he and his wife were being thrown under the bus with a marking talk.
They used to do what the Bible said and attempt two admonishments but now I think thier just going for the throat.

When you stop & think about it ,why would Gods chosen people in the Old testament need an army ?
by smiddy inas the op states why would israel /jewish nation need to have an army at all ?
if they were the chosen people as the bible states under a theocracy , why would the men of israel need an army .?
to protect them ?.

Your spot on, God says in the Ten Commandments do not commit murder the n it's ok to make an army and go murder a bunch of people that aren't you. And like you stated why would they need an army if gods got angels?

Why is religion in general so obsessed with what people choose to do with their willies and vaginas?
by jambon1 inwhat was it in the evolution of religion that got them so hung up about what people do with their genitalia?.
i mean, the (mis)use of genitalia is up there with murdering another human being in terms of badness.. and in the 21st century, we have a situation where in the jw religion, it's deemed as acceptable for three middle aged/old men to sit a teenage girl down and ask her the details of her use of her genitals.
to any normal person this is intrusive, completely inappropriate and bordering on deviancy.. why they so obsessed?.

Religion started off with sex being a good thing. A continuation of life etc. The God that won The popularity in most pantheons was the fertility gods with the creator gods being pushed aside. The mother goddesses were extremely admired too.
I think sex and issues over how it done and to who etc came later with weirdo freaks and thier abstentions with the subject.

James you have some of that backwards Enki is the good god god of wisdom and god of the earth and water. He would be considered Satan if the connection can be made. Also he is the God that warned man that his brother Enlil the sky god was going to kill them all with a flood. Enki with a female god made man not Enlil so yes he's the good guy and Enlil is the bad god who wanted to kill mankind because they were to noisy.
But let's not forget so much has changed that it's really difficult to make a direct connection. Before he Enlil was the god that wanted to kill man there's even older stories that the god Anu his father wanted to kill man. These stories change and the gods change too depending on who's telling the story and what city you were living in. Also many god assumed the powers and identity of the older gods.

Slaves and Sheeps
by Sorry indisclaimer: while this may be a sensitive topic to some, i don't wish to offend anyone.
please don't turn this into a political discussion with name calling and yelling.
i can see why the borg hates higher education.

Religions and governments from the beginning of time have used the idea of a God to lord over the people. God gives them and them alone The authority to rule and if your not a slave to them you'll die and be sent to hell or not go to and kind of decent after life.
This is nothing new and the cult likes it. The cult of Jehovahs witnesses is much closer in the way they act to the old chatholic church then most would realize. They even wrote in a WT in the 1950's that if it wasn't for the laws of the land they would like nothing more then to kill apostates.

There's talk in Isaiah chapter 54 I believe that's the right chapter but some say this is Isaiah talking about his own son.
