Have to agree with Vidiot, very little real persecution and a lot less Christians then we're ment to believe. Only after emperor Constantine and a later emperor did the Christian population grow.

Was pyramidology a distraction to hide Russell's true source?
by Crazyguy inrussell was big in to the pyramid at giza but i'm trying to understand his line of thinking?
in the early 1840s and author by the name of john aquila brown wrote a book called the even-tide.
in his book he lays out the times of the end and his ideas on the book of daniel.

I think he got more influence about the pyramid from Cours are whatever his name then from Barbour? I at one piont in time believed that the pyramid was a confirmation of his ideas about the end times he took from John Brown but have been told that no he was more into the pyramid as the main focus probably influenced by Cours on this. I believe he and Barbour had a fallen out before he wrote his first book Time At Hand in 1889 and then his next book The Kingdom Come was the big on on the pyramid written in 1991.

Russell was big in to the pyramid at Giza but I'm trying to understand his line of thinking? In the early 1840s and author by the name of John Aquila Brown wrote a book called the Even-Tide. In his book he lays out the times of the end and his ideas on the book of Daniel. These ideas get copied by Adventists and the millerites. Every thing we have been taught about the end of the gentile times 607 and 1914 and these ideas comes from his book. He didn't mention these exact dates but these ideas were clearly his.
So whats with the pyramid? Many Adventists wrote about the pyramid and Russell took this idea too and wrote several books about it. So I don't get it, the end times ideas he stole and then modified from John Brown so why the pyramid? Was it a distraction away from his true source or did it make for better books sales , does anyone know?

WTBTS' corrupt translation - to elevate elders!
by The Searcher inthe wt march 2017, p.11, par.
13 quotes ephesians 4:8 as saying, "the bible refers to them as 'gifts in men.
however, the org's own kingdom interlinear translation (and every other bible translation) gives a truthful translation of the verse: .

You'll find they did the same at revelations 5:9-10 where thier Bible says "there going to rule as kings and priests over the earth" . The KIT shows that the word "over" is actually the word "on" the word "Kings" is not there and the word "rule" is actually the word "reign " which can have a different meaning .

I know of an elderly female pioneer that lost her husband and her only source of income . Now she has had to put her little house in to a reverse mortgages program so she can have enough money just to pay her bills.
I also know a JW that has a auto repair shop. He has had to fix more then one pioneer or single sisters car for free because they didn't have any money to pay for the needed repairs. Another JW family had him repair thier car but when it came time to pay they delayed because they had spent the money to send the wife to Hawaii so she could be at the regional convention with her family. They finally paid but it took awhile.

JWs kinda admit to not being Christian
by NikL induring the book study which is basically a book all about the history of "gods organization" ©.
a paragraph that hit me like a ton of the proverbial bricks was this.... 9 first, jehovah’s servants came to have the proper view of the importance of god’s name.
faithful early bible students viewed the ransom arrangement as the bible’s main teaching.

Well here is the thing the early religion did have a lot of similarities to the Masons. The religion did use a lot of the symbology of the Masons and were also into pyramidology. Maybe Russell just took all this from the Adventists who knows. In the end cults like the JWs and Mormons only give Jesus lip service and the Masons were definitely not into Jesus because they knew who he really was.
Today the jws have given up all Masonic symbols but still meet in halls and still just give lip service to and about Jesus. Thier really not a Christian sect thier a old Testament based religion worshipping the god of the Old Testament.

Jesus and the fig tree, what are jws taught?
by Crazyguy inin the story in the gospel of mark, mark writes that jesus is hungry and comes across a fig tree.
mark explains that it not in season yet jesus upon finding the fig tree has produced no fruit kills the tree.. this story makes no sense if literal so do the gun teach that it literally happened?.
-

Richard Carrier has said much the same, that it's an allegory written by Christians to show how the Jewish temple was useless and no longer needed. It was an attempt by Christians to continue to marginalized The competing Jewish sect.
I was just curious if the jws really taught it really happened?
