I remember my dad coming into the room I was in and heard me listening to a song by the group Heart. After hearing a few lyrics he thought she was singing about sex with an animal. Jw parents can be so crazy!

Hotel California
by Normalfulla ingrowing up was ok being a jw or so i thought, i guess u accept life as it comes when yr a kid , anyhow i played guitar and my elder dad (who is currently df) would forbid me to learn hotel california or even if it came on the radio he would run and quickly turn it off , .
he explained he had heard a tape recording at work that explained that this song along with stairway to heaven and others had back masking on it and when played backwards would say stuff like "satan has his own congregation " or other stuff like that , now this was not a jw sanctioned audio talk just some other christian production .. none of dad's other peers felt the same and growing up it illustrated to me dad's propensity to be influenced and convinced about something seemingly innocuous to others.. fast forward to a year or so ago and i showed him a section from the eagles documentary where don henley talks about the meaning of hotel california and how much trouble christian evangelists gave the song due to their own interpretation etc , so completely refuted the claims my father had told me were fact as a kid ,from the horses mouth so to speak .
his answer was ,"well of course he'd say that he wants to save face ,he wouldn't admit the truth !".

Is JW.org unbreakable

let's face it, despite all the books, videos, forums, court cases, hearings, protests etc that have been exposing the society for many years.
jw.org continues to roll on almost 'it seems' unscathed.. for example, just walk into any kingdom hall there is not so much as a whisper about anything that has been exposed outside of jw land.

Their bleeding members bad. People are just sick of the bull even with out knowing about all the scandals etc. Halls are at 50% capacity or less, Europe most likely less.
I have a friend and two of his sisters have recently stopped going. Ones been DFD and after getting reinstated they spy on her and harass her so she told them to go away and not come back. The other sister of his was in a miserable marriage so she's off having an affair divorced her husband and is happy. Doesn't go to meeting. These two have never been in any apostate sites just plain miserable being JWs. I willing to bet this is happening all over.

i haven't seen or spoke to him in a year.
i'd lost all contact with him, no facebook, no mobile number, i didn't even know his address because he'd moved house.

What's interesting is they say this yet I see more Mormon churches around town then Kingdom Halls . There Also bigger and more people attending. Maybe what it's really saying is there's a lot less JWs then we are told in this country.

International Covention...my elevator ride with head of Bethel and his ass kiss assistant!!

he had a young pretty sister who was escorting him around.
i stood behind them and rocognized him instantly.

Ever heard of a brother being DFD and just walking away from family support?
by Crazyguy injust wondering if there ever been a brother that got dfd and then was shunned by his wife and his at home kids and he's just said , if your going to treat me like this screw it and walked away from all his responsibilities as a provider etc?
it must be hard for those that are dfd to continue to support those that shun him?
again anyone hear of such a case?.

DA myself to relieve great pressure?
by Isambard Crater inmy lifelong mental illnesses, fuelled significantly by the borg, are very bad at the moment and result in me missing lots of midweek meetings, but i haven't missed a sunday in years except the occasional vacation.. the nature of my mental and emotional illnesses mean that i, as a physically in and mentally out pimo, take to heart very painfully admonishment from the platform to never miss meetings, preach all i can, and so on.. okay, i report 3 hours each month on average and no elder has ever said anything, but when they make comments on the platform, i feel such great guilt and shame, but also anger, as they do not understand my illnesses and when i do mention my situation to elders, they kind of minimise and joke about it.. some other sisters in my congregation started "officially" not attending midweek meetings a few year's ago because of their own health circumstances, but i know for a fact that some elders look down on them for this reason, not showing real understanding deep down even if they do on the surface.. i have reached the point where i want to hand in a da letter as a cry for help, or more like a clear indicator to them that when i say i'm not well enough to attend midweek, i really mean it and it's not just an excuse.
sure, i'm only 42, but i can still be too fragile to go out at night with a 30 minute drive both ways..

Don't do that , that's just stupid. Stop going to all midweek meetings and then go to less and less Sundays. If they say something just blame it on your health and leave it at that. Then go out and enjoy life.
