I was there this weekend a sister went into labor during the assembly, they insisted that she not leave. When the child was born they rushed it forward and baptized it, it was the only one baptized. J/k

What I noticed on some of these graphs is the less then 80 publishers per congregation in a lot of those countries. They are probably realizing that that’s not enough publishers to really be viable when it comes to costs and donations. Maybe their thinking get closer to 100 publishers per congregation to maximize their investment. It also frees up tons of halls to be sold for some easy money. The last thing is with so many leaving and dying having congregations with only 60-70 publishers people are really going to notice when 10 or 20 leave or die.

Someone over a Reddit post numbers going back each year for a few years. According to his numbers in 2013 the number of congregations closed went way up to 62 and continued to rise and the last couple of years well over 100 per year. Don’t know where he got his info from. He’s says it may have to do with changes of each congregations legal status and possible reductions from the LDC.
He also just posted that his sources are research in Germany of closed halls. Info provided at JW.borg and other official sources. He lists a German website as well of I believe all the sold halls. The website listed is https://www.jehovaszeugen.de/amtsblatt.44.0.html

American JWs - Marriage in Foreign Countries
by NeverKnew inas a non-jw, i now know of at least 3 american jws who have left the country, married some random person in a third world country and who have returned to the us alone.
there may be a 4th one soon.. it could be pure coincidence, but just thought i’d throw it out there to see if there’s some bizarre jw logic to this .
i’m no longer close enough to the group to hear any details so... could be purely coincidence.

I knew of an ugly sister that went to Australia thinking she would have a better chance at getting married since supposedly there are more men than woman down there. She came back empty handed.

God will not let you suffer more than you can bare.
by StephaneLaliberte ini had a conversation with an old jw friend and he spent a good part of the evening preaching to me.
as i am “inactive”, i am forced to stay low, thus, i was not argumentative.
yet, at one moment, he said that angels protect jws in field service and other situations.

The things people will say and do to continue to believe in an invisible man in the sky. I’m sure letting those 45 people die in that hurricane was way better for them and their families then to save them. Makes all the sense in the world!

Outside JW World They Barely Exist
by Farmer Jim1 inis anyone else staggered by the fact that outside of the organization most of the general public seem to know very little or nothing about jw’s?
when i was in i was led to believe that 99% of the worlds population had been giving sufficient warning, knew what it was all about and were stubbornly sticking to their immoral ways.
the reality seems to be that the entire jw universe is barely noticeable to the masses.

So funny that the three things I always heard about the JWs from worldly people is JWs don’t celebrate holidays don’t take blood transfusions and don’t believe in Jesus. Ok the last one is wrong but these worldly people know nothing I repeat nothing of the message of the good news of the Kingdom JW style.

The True Heir of the Roman Empire was not the Anglosphere, or Western Europe - It was the Russian Imperial Empire.
by fulltimestudent inmay i recommend this podcast discussing the russian revolution.
its made by a the conversation, an academic web-site, and features interviews with a number of historians.
i recommend it because an in-depth knowledge of history will protect your thinking from the shallow historical interpretation evident in the jws concept of a progression of world powers and the view of ww1 being a world war.

I’m just saying it seems as though imperial Russian came along about 1700s, much of Europe had already developed by then. German states were already under the Holy Roman Empire , France , Spain, Austria-Hungry all under the control of the pope. Early Russia around Moscow was controlled by the Vikings other northern Russia cities were under their control too. I’m not sure how you can show a connection between Russia and Rome. Sure the Russians took on the names Cesar’s called themselves Czars with their monarchy, but what else?

Important Question about Bible Examiner Vol. XXI No. 1 (whole No. 313), October 1876, pages 27, 28
by Saename inso i was just comparing several quotes from different watchtower publications related to 1914. in my experience, pre–1914 publications point to this year as the end, and post–1914 publications point to this year as the start of the last days.
so i was reading awake!
from 1973 january 22 p. 8 where it claims that jehovah's witnesses have always pointed to year 1914 as the beginning of the last days.

Ok maybe I’m wrong that the book Time at hand published in 1889 was his first book but I do believe it was his first in the study in the scripture series. I’ll have to go check the published dates of the other books I have.
I will say this , he may have not believed that all people not of his sect would die at Armageddon but he did write that Armageddon was to take place in 1914. I think both he and Rutherford (for awhile) believed that all their followers would go to heaven and the rest of mankind would be on the earth having issues or suffering or something to that effect.

Imperial Russia came on the seen about 300 years after the fall of the eastern Roman Empire. Before this powers in Italy were already consolidated and had formed the Holy Roman Empire . Charlemagne had already consolidate a large part of Europe and it too had come under the control of the Pope. I’m not sure where your going with this?
