I don’t think anyone a proved Russell wasn’t a Mason . Just because a lodge denies he was part of a secret club doesn’t mean squat. He used many Masonic Symbols was buried in a Masonic cemetery etc.... Maybe he wasn’t a Mason but he seemed like maybe he wanted to be.

Astro-theology and dates concerning Jesus the moon god?

many who have looked in to this before me have stated that jesus is a retelling of a son god.
they talk about horus and quote scriptures where jesus is alluded to being the sun of god as much as the son of god.

Just an update; but yes I have found that the moon does indeed seem to die after the new moon for threes days. Older moon deities were male but in time many became female or were replaced with a feminine goddess or were the daughter of the moon god. Mary being a copy of Ishtar an older moon deities daughter.
A woman’s cycle is usually at about the same 28 day cycle as the moon. This again has all the makings of the fertility aspect of these fertility religions.
The early Christian Church wanted to inculcate all the aspects of all the fertility ideas from older religion. Jesus was born in the house of bread, Bethlehem. Was the light of the world Sun of god born on December 25 the rising and rebirth of the Sun. He saves mankind from the cold dark winter by being sacrificed but is resurrected when the sun takes over the night on the spring Equinox.
Add in some of the Greek ideas of fertility and you have the Easter celebration with Easter eggs and bunny rabbits.

i was wondering how they pick the date for the memorial because, even though religious groups are celebrating today as easter, next sunday is actually the anniversary date of the resurrection according to the jewish calendar?

I century Jewish tradition based on a lunar calendar. Ok so several decades before jesus was born Julius Caesar adopted the Egyptian solar calendar and called it the Julian calendar. The Egyptians were using this calendar for well over a thousand years and we’re the authority over the area where the Jews lived until Assyria then Babylin pushed them out.
So one can summize that maybe the Jews didn’t have a lunar calendar until after they went to Babylon and then were to change before jesus showed up to the Julian calendar. Anyway you slice it jesus the son of god died for mankind’s sins and no one knows the exact date . They instead have to use a older less accurate lunar calendar. I call bull Shiite, it’s all Astro theology related.

Ok so here’s the reality of the situation he’s a cult member. Even though he may have left he’s still a brainwashed believer.
You need to ask yourself if you still want to be with him because he’s probably going to go back and kick you to the kurb so he doesn’t get into anymore trouble. If he does stay with you and you don’t become a JW he and all his friends will treat you like a second class citizen. Do you want that.

I got back from the memorial . . .
by neat blue dog init was pretty mundane for the most part, same songs, same outline.
the only new thing they added was the video at the end, where stephen lett speaks to the visitors and commends them for coming and recommends they go to jwdotorg and also start a bible study.
they also showed a bar graph with figures increasing every year for jws, memorial attendance and memorial partakers.
