Has the Governing Body ever been right?

i asked this question to a relative after mentioning several situations where teachings were changed or readjusted (new light) and they have two reasons.

yes, they are correct because look at how the preaching work has grown through the decades and the advancements in witnessing and the second reason was the doctrine of the trinity and how the society opposes that.

i didn’t really have a response, especially for the trinity doctrine.. does the governing body have the rejection of the trinity belief correct?.

I have researched this and I can not find one decade in their history where they taught things that held true or didn’t have to be changed later because of it not being accurate.

As far as their preaching work, you can look at 1 Corinthians chapter 15 and it explains in detail what the good news is. JWs don’t preach the good news.

Point 2. The first three councils delt with the evolution of Christ finally saying he was both man and god part of a three personality. Yes thier are scriptures the seem to indicate jesus separate from his father, but I believe this is because the scriptures where written and changed over time to reflect the early Christians beliefs as they evolved over time. For example One can see changes about his birth and mother from gospel to gospel. Having a human mother was a later idea possible inserted after the council of Ephesus.

i just had a thought of clarity regarding the jw explanation for this doctrine.

they explain that satan challenged god regarding his right to rule.

god failed to prove his right to rule.

I don’t think it was just made up by WT. This is what many other Christian religions have had to teach otherwise god looks like a big dick just doing nothing all the while people suffer.

No wonder they keep begging for money. I guess they think this project will give them a great return on investment when they sell. Wonder if they thought about who would want to buy such a complex.

The story of my congregation in the last five years.

Funny you say that James, my mother has told my sister about all the growth in her area to and how packed out her DC was. What my mother failed to realize is that several of the congregations merged so yes the ones left are packed and her DC was moved from a building that could hold 18,000 to a building that only holds 1500.

Let’s start with the good news for the congregation that is. Two new sisters were added to the group a mother and her daughter. Then the bad news. In the last 5 years 3 brothers one of them being an elder died. A sister moved away after getting married but came back after separating from her spouse, not long after she dissociated herself and moved in with her apostate father. Another family had termoil as their son became openly gay and wanted nothing todo with the JWs. He was kicked out I believe and moved away.

A elders two kids stopped associating with the congregation one finding a worldly guy after having problems with dating jw brothers and the other kid went his own way after finishing high school.

I woke up and also left the congregation. They were so blessed by the apostate leaving that the congregation the same year had something like 25 car accidents, with a couple three members being seriously hurt.

I also found out recently another young member about 18 or so has left the org to pursue drugs and rock and roll, that’s what I’m told any way.

Last but not least the two sisters that joined and got baptized with in a year both left . So in the end this congregation lost eleven members that I know of and no knew ones have joined. This is truly a sign of a vast expansion going on during these end times.

A former roommate bought a two door sports car. The elders at his hall bow beat him into trading it back in for a 4 door sedan and he lost thousands over the deal.

A female JW had collected cars and owns several collectible hot rods. The elder in her hall were trying to pressure her to sell them. She told them to piss off!

What I really like about these videos is that there in 2016 or 15 and their selling 3000 properties off because of lack of funds. It’s not like this was back in 08 or 09 it more recent. This shows me that they really are hurting. The day by have the cash or the members they need to continue to contribute.

What they really have is less than 5 million adult members and most are in countries where they have very little money and their membership is falling probably faster then ever! Good times in my opinion!!

How to deal with struggling with the doctrines

this is my first post.

i'm still a jw but am inactive.

im struggling with the fact that i agree with some of the doctrines (i,e, the stance on the trinity, there is no hell) but i disagree with a lot of things (i,e, men can't have beards, women have to wear skirts).

Do your own research that’s what I did. In Luke jesus talks about hell. And there are plenty of scriptures that state there is a trinity. No I’m not saying this is accurate and the JWs got it wrong but when you do some research one can see how Christians believe these two doctrines. What I have found is an evolution in the Bible. What Christians believed in let’s say 150 or 200 AD was different then what they were taught let’s say after 325 AD. The Bible reflects this in its writings that were not necessarily in stone during these times and many changes were made over the centuries.

Anyway welcome to this forum and I would suggest you go back to threads started about ten years ago. JWs posting back then were really more into and knowledgeable about the Bible.

As for your next comments about JW rules your so correct these are man made rules not found in the Bible. Ask yourself would Jesus tell people to do and act the way JWs are told to by their leaders? Again welcome!
