I did not realize they ever gave a specific date to the exodus. What they don’t seem to understand is that the Pharaoh at the time or the one that succeeded the Pharaoh of the exodus was Thutmose I . He was one of the most successful kings of the Egyptians and expanded Egyptian rule all the way up into Syria even crossing the Euphrates river. So what was the point of the Exodus if the land you ran to was going to be conquered by the same people you ran away from. Jeez Jehovah you screwed the pooch on that one didn’t you.

When I was a young teenager one of my friends stabbed another in the arm with a hunting knife. I was a witness to the event and we were all appalled by it. But being kids after a few months when the victim wasn’t around we would try to get this guy to come out and play with us . Why, well we needed the extra body. See we played football in the street all the time and he lived on our street. He was pretty good but more importantly we often were short a person for a good game. So in time we started proding him to come out and play.
I think of this experience and about why JWs do what they do. We looked the other way in time because of a selfish need. I think that’s part of the problem with JWs. Thier in a cult and they have been taught some really stupid stuff and they also have been witnessed to some crap. But they stay because it’s their social club thier social life. You try to reason with them you show them all the lies and mistakes but they just don’t want to leave even when they don’t believe most or at least some of it. Why again the same reasons why we as kids looked past the fact that the kid we played football with us had stabbed another friend. We were selfish and I think that’s a large part of the problem with humans in general and JWs. They don’t want to loose what they have their selfish.

One scripture Jesus quoted that the Watchtower Society forgets to teach/apply
by RULES & REGULATIONS in14 and this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.. .
19 go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that i have commanded you.
and behold, i am with you always, to the end of the age.”.

They also don’t preach the good news of the Kingdom, the good news is described at 1corithians chapter 15 and they also do what jesus said not to do. They judge they exalt themselves they say the end is near, they show no love for their enemies or their neighbors, they ingnore the prodigal son parable etc etc etc

It’s really amazing that most jw marriages stay put . With the demands of the cult the lifestyle and everything else that goes along with it you would think that almost all the marriages would fail.

The Hypocrisy Of Jehovah’s Witnesses
by minimus incelebrating holidays is wrong if you are a witness.
but almost every jw that i know of has turkey on thanksgiving day.
they say , every day is a day of thanksgiving.
-
Crazyguy
Romans chapter 14 and Colossians chapter 2 both state holidays are a conscience matter and Job says that his children celebrated their special day. So the facts are Watchtower made up a doctrine that’s not supported by the Bible and this also shows JWs in all their arrogance really don’t know their bible any better then the average Christian.

Typical, get to bethel after a couple of years as a pioneer and then spends most of his life there out of touch with reality and real peoples problems etc. They the GB really are like royalty, royalty too was almost always out of touch with reality.

I think it’s happening more and more. Wives are waking up to that fact they have been married to a dead beat husband that really doesn’t do a damn thing in life. They just go to meetings work pathetic jobs if they work at all and sit around waiting for Armageddon. They treat thier wives not much better then the house cat and the wives are sick of it. I have a friends that’s sister has done this.

Please explain this...
by unsure ini'm looking for a creationist viewpoint on this video:.
https://youtu.be/oetkajbg1ea.
why was this creature created to behave the way it does?.
-
Crazyguy
Yeah and what about all these creatures that get into a host body and then actually control the host. And Viruses and bacteria that can do some remarkably destructive things . There’s just no reason why a god would create these things unless he was a freak. And there’s no mention in the Bible that Satan and anytime had the power to create any of it.
The goat headers that possibly write some of the biblical texts had no idea of what was really going on in life that’s why they wrote that god made plants and trees before the sun and why in over 60 scriptures they wrote that the earth was flat.

Kingdom Hall sales - A question?
by no-zombie ina little while ago, comments appeared here about the sale of about 3000 halls and an american boe letter sent discussing a while sweeping congregational reorganization.
does anyone here have a copy of that letter or written proof of plan to downsize, that they are willing to share?.
-
Crazyguy
I don’t think such a letter exists but I could be wrong. The numbers I always heard from the Borg was how many new building projects that were supposed to be going on and why they need our money. As for hall closer and sales I think they have only stated that these moves were to help with space and better use of it. No numbers being mentioned for they dont want the average JW to start and put two and two together.
There was some accounting videos that mentioned some numbers saying they had a certain vacancy rate etc maybe that’s where any numbers may have been discussed.
