How to Take Down the AAWA! (For those that have been hurt by that org)

(if you're tired of aawa threads, please be aware, this is an aawa thread.).

sadly - there are people who have been negatively affected by the aawa, and like other organizations, the aawa made protecting it's name and reputation a priority over helping and protecting the people it should have been trying to help.

like other organizations, they won't discuss the issues publicly with the community, insisting instead on discussions behind closed doors and "getting the names" of people expressing concerns.. .

now i am going to do a rear thing here and i am going to stick up for the wts.

i realise that the wts hasn't got the best of track record, and sure they have made mistakes.

but if i was to go to another church wouldn't they still have the same issues.

Good posts every one, I do see how the JW's really do lead to spirtual death, Thier idea that thier the truth and there all perfect, gods only religion really has chased people away from god alltogether. You see it here on this forum, once people see the really light the reaction is distain, anger and the feel sometimes to run away from god. Satan wins again. A person must give it time, when the chains of the JW thinking are released true knowledge can be released. I'm finding so much more insight in to the bible and learning so much more, and my appreation for God and Jesus is going way up!!! Just hang in there.

preaching work?

we as jw's have always been told by the gb that the preaching work is paramount, they imply that if your not preaching that your not going to make it to the kingdom.

so what scriptures do they use for this idea?

the only one i can think of is the one in matt.

wow a gift from god not really a gift but, god does not just throw a gift at us but he expects something in return. Wow according to thier understanding i guess they do not really know what a gift is. Maybe thats why they do not have any araingment set up, to feed the poor, help the widows and orphans for they do not really know what a gift is.

And i like what was also posted by Nathan; If the new testament was written for only the anointed, Jesus was only thier mediator and the new covenant is only for them. Then i guess they can get off thier butts and go out and do the preaching work just themselves for what is my benefit, since i have no mediator then i'm a pathetic sinner that has no hope for eternal life or a resurection.

as most people will know, the watchtower magazine is the principle publication used by the watch tower society (wts) to teach its own brand of religious doctrine to those known as jehovah's witnesses (jws).

Any way maybe ones here should focus more one the BS that is how they come up with the idea of Jah and Jesus inspecting the world looking for an group using Mal.3:1-5, none of it holds water and if you notice in thiers articles they never do explain in detail how they come to this conclusion or the funky math they use. Lot's of talk on the July Watchtower?

so i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.

i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?

" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

in the second article the mention Rusell being like John the Baptist, so i guess that mean the F&DS are christ themselves???? Wonder if any rank and file will pick up on this?

All Things Fulffilled In The1st Century

all things were fulfilled in the 1st century.it was obvious the messiah was talking to the people in that generation not a generation 2000 years later.. christianity has for 2000 years placed itself in the shoes of those 1st century beleivers and think all things pertainott hem today.when infact none of it does.

the prohecise of the messiah cmae true in the 1st century including revelation which is symbolic, metaphorical apocolyptic language showing all tha thad been done .

the kingdom is here.the king rules and has done for 2000 years.

JWs and Earthquakes

yesterday, my wife's sister shared on facebook a screen capture of people talking about the earthquake in china.

the top of the list was a twitter user saying "is it just me or are these 5.0+ quakes coming more frequently" (paraphrasing).

her response "people are finally seeing what's coming" (not paraphrasing).. initially, this pissed me off because there is no increase in earthquakes.

a couple of weeks ago the public talk the speaker basically admitted that there may not be anymore quakes then before, not sure if any one caught that but me. But he did talk as though today terroists are so bad and shows an increasing in lawlessness. Except all death by war and terroism is down. lol

So what scriptures do they use for this idea? The only one i can think of is the one in Matt. 28;19 'go make disciples', and then they imply James 2;26 'faith with out works is dead' them implying works is preaching. Other then these two what other scriptures do they use to make this idea so strong.

And if you can point to scriptures showing the the 'works' in James is really the fruitage of the spirit that would be helpful too thanks.
