I guess it comes down to faith, if one believes the hope in christ is true or not. I don't think it is harmful to believe in christ and to act the way he said his followers should, having love for one another and your nieghbor. It when religions go beyond what is written is when all the problems start and i think paul understood this better then any one after Jesus.

Question for believers.
by zound inthis thread is not to try and prove which position is true or false, but i wanted to ask a question to believers.
i'll prelude the question with some examples.. jw's think that their message is true and benificial to others - therefore they knock on doors and informal witness etc.
i think it's safe to say most on this forum agree it is not true and it is in fact harmful (particularly to children) perhaps harmful in ways that the jw is not in a position to appreciate because of his/her warped perspective on things.. on the other hand - if their message was true, and armageddon is coming etc etc, then you could argue that them preaching this stuff is not harmful (actually its morally ambiguous but nevermind that for the time being) because the ends justifies the means - it all comes out in the wash etc.. in turn if mormons message was false then we can agree they are misleading, lying, wasting peoples precious time and lives and ultimately harming children and susceptable people by spreading it.

I don't get it, he sent out letters to the Kingdom halls and from their people responded, how so. I mean if a letter is sent to a hall an elder would respond, like he said going to his address and talking with him. But from there individual witnesses start showing up and start asking questions and the numbers grow. It doesn't make sense.

by Bells inlong story short - my in-laws know that i strongly disagree with their blood doctrine.
i received 3rd degree burns as a toddler and without blood, i would have died.
no doubt this is much of the reason that i feel the way i do.. my mil sent me an article, saying that i might find it of interest - in other words, it is an example to 'refute my contradictions about blood transfusions'.

Jesus said in matthew that they desired mercy and not sacrifice, chapter 12 if i remember correctly. Any way at one moment the JW's are talking like they are doing something so wonderful abstaining from blood and introducing the world to a new idea and pushing new technology. On the other hand hoping no one will notice they allowing members to take all sorts of blood components and hemopure which is cows blood. The blatant hypocrisy is just sickening and the fact that they have cost so many their lives is an abomination.

Paul said he didnt care by what motive the gospel was preached but that it was. He also said any one that preaches a gospel other then the one we apostles preach they would be cursed. With that being said if christian religions focused only on the gospel or good news of christ and that hes the messiah etc. we would not have all these problems. Stay with in what is written.

Jesus was a perfect man but had bad grammar so I guess he was not perfect afterall, for even a 4th gradder would of said "these generations " or not used this line of speach at all. For a 4th grader would of none that there are plenty of ways of saying this with out saying something so completley wrong in its use.

The powers that be will do everything in their power to make sure were still slaves to them and actually we will not just continue to be slaves to them but they infact will probably kill us all. Fukushima is way worse then reported, the Pacific Ocean is dying and one more accident at reactor 4 and mankind is in for a real problem.
