Strange Moment During The 2015 Regional Convention
by JW_Rogue inhi, i'm new here but hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere yet.
during the "imitate jesus" rc there was a strange moment where they played a video of a brother trying to explain the 1914 teaching.
the brother quickly goes through all the scriptural "proofs" and the householder is dumbfounded.

I think a lot of this new stuff their introducing is to just get the R&F confused more then usual. Then they just shrug their shoulders and go to the next get together. -

I think the cave paintings in France and the ones in Indonesia are some really good examples to use. Both were dated using that fact that over the Paintings crystals were deposited and they can measure this very accurately because some type of products in the crystal that decays at a known rate. Another thing worth mentioning is the Pyramids of Giza and Several Egyptian cities and temples all existed before the flood and show no sign of water damage. Same goes with cities in ancient Sumerian. -

One drop of a woman's breast milk has about 1 million white blood cells, tell me again God doesn't want us to eat blood. This is what we should all ask any JW we meet. Sick cult. -

Normalcy bias keeps JWs from leaving
by zimunzucz ini have been frustrated by the inability of most jws to escape their bondage to the kh, despite repeated exposure to negative information about their religion and belief system.
perhaps it's due in part to something called normalcy bias- a definition i have found is:.
normalcy bias is part of human nature and, to some extent, we are all guilty of participating in it.

The thing is people are quiting, growth is stagnant and all the changes are sure to wake up more. Religion is becoming less and less relevant. -

Bethel Meeting at Regional Convention
by MrTheocratic ini decided to go to the bethel recruiting meeting yesterday to test out my theory that the organization is in decline.
i assumed that if there is a general feeling of apathy by many in the org, then certainly it would be shown up by the lack of enthusiasm or zeal by many to sign up for bethel service.
well let me say that based on what i observed, this organization is not going anywhere.

I found a few years ago when the word was put out to the congregation to have a meeting for those that want to reach out. Most of the brothers showed up but when it was all done a few years later only three had really reached ms or elder. So I think the meeting was all for show and those that didn't go would be looked at as weak or something so of course they all went. -

Interesting Article on Bart Erhman's Blog about Papias beliefs about a Paradise Earth!
by skepticSam ini doubt the early wt thought papias had much to say when the subject came to the transformation of the earth in to a paradise.
there's some strange things he claims he heard by close associates with jc, bart erhman has up on his paid blog more information about this topic.
the basics are that papias claimed jesus said "the earth will sprout so much food" that those gigantic cluster of grapes brought in by joshua and caleb are nothing compared to what's in store for followers of jc.

The idea of a paradise came from the Egyptians, they thought after they died and went threw the underworld going through some triles and tribulations that after thier last test having thier heart weighed if they past the test they would live forever. This place was called the field of reeds. If they did not past the test and thier heart was unpure they would be eaten by a beast and die a second death forever gone. -

I play tournament poker and cash consistently, my percentage of cashing is way higher then what the borg make on the stock market yet I'm gambling thier not. I spent over a 150 bucks a week ago or so taking family to the new jurassic movie I gambled that money that the movie would be good and the family would like it. They did but I thought it sucked, either way it was still a gamble.
