  went to see MOM for MOTHERS day and jw dad showed up

  i surprised mom with flowers and cake ,candy etc.

  she was so happy, i told her i was going to work.

  and couldn't see her for mother's day, she said she was just staying home,as none of my non jw bro's or sisters were taking her out for dinner.

  What really happened around 1918 when WT leaders were imprisoned?

  i had never thought about this until just now when i saw that nathan natas posted some early tract from rutherford, and it made me think back to what little i could remember of the history i was taught.

  i now know that in most cases the dubs will spin stories in their favor.

  so i'm now assuming i was told some fictitious story about what happened when the leaders were thrown in prison and things looked bleak for the cult way back when.

  Who are the 144,000?

  if i am understanding correctly only 144,000 will go to heaven, to be with jesus and help rule?

  these 144,000 are witnesses only.

  there is over a million jw world wide, what happens to the rest of the faithful followers.

  To answer your question, I believe the 144k represent the Jewish converts to Christianity and the other Sheep talked about in the gospels are the gentiles. Both groups are gathered in heaven before the throne of god as stated at chapters 7,14,19 of Revelations. These also join to together r with resurrected ones mentioned at chapter 5 and in verses 9-10 are said to reign on earth as priests . This is in reference to an older scripture I believe in Deuteronomy which says something to the effect of, the nation of Israel is a holy nation of royal priests’ .

  The JWs I believe to make for themselves a laity class made the 144k a special group that go to heaven to rule as kings over the great crowd now residing on earth. Of course the leaders are always of the 144k . This can easily be proven wrong because again the scriptures at Revelations 5:9-10 in the Greek clearly state they will not rule and are not kings and are on the earth.

  It can also be shown that the great crowd is in heaven using the Bible but again the JWs change the meaning of the Greek word Naos so they can claim the crowd is in the earth.

  JW and communion

  a few years ago i attended the kingdom hall during "easter" as my mother in law asked me to come to a service.

  i was hesitant at first, being a christian and a believer in jesus, she told me that jw believe in jesus and to come see for myself.

  i finally agreed to go.

  That actual Greek inter linear says at Revelations 5:9-10 that they will reign on the earth as priests. There is no mentioning of them being kings or ruling over the earth. This is just another blatant JW change in their bible to push thier doctrine.

  the older woman was severely hurt.

  Pre 2000 magazines now on JW Org- have there been alterations to the originals?

  They changed the January 1 1989 wt when it was reprinted in the bound volume so yeah I wouldn’t put it past them.

  Motherly Love, that "Unbreakable Bond"

  my father died a couple of months ago.

  he'd been ill for some time and had many health scares and heart troubles over the years but always managed to keep on going.

  then one time he didn't.. i'm glad i got to know him again and spend some more time with him after so many years missed because of the wts but those years will always be lost forever.

  advice please/data protection

  i have just received an email from an elder's wife regarding the new data protection laws.

  between the lines it sounds like she has been asked to contact me.. she says they 'don't want to leave me out' so they want me to fill out the form as 'i'm still part of the congregation'.

  also, my blood card needs updating, apparently.. the elder in charge will be in contact.. obviously, i'm not doing either, but what do i do?

  That maybe a good comment to respond with, sister how did you know these items were not update? I thought all information was for the elders eyes only? Since it seems as though it’s ok with the elders to share private info with their wives I have decided to decline your request. My information is between myself my god and my doctor.

  talking about tomorrow's wt study, that mentions over a quarter of a million baptized every year, a jw asked how many that is a day.

  i got out my calculator and answered over 778 a day.

  of course they were amazed at the growth, but immediatly i googled another statistic and read it aloud:.

  If in 1997 there was roughly 5m and they are baptizing 250k per year then that mean they should have baptized 5 million more members in the last 20 years. They state they have 8 million members now, so thier missing 2 million members.

  Does anyone know or does the Bible state when the Jonah story supposedly happen? Before the destruction of their army when attacking Jerusalem (propaganda) there’s no way the Assyrians would of listened to him. So this would have had to happen after but even then an Israelite walks into the city I would think he would have been instantly killed.
