That would be the first temple period for Solomon’s temple either didn’t exist or was in Tanis so no temple in Jerusalem.

Daniel was wrong about the fate of the King of the North…..and so is the WT & others
by deegee inthe king of the north, that is, the king of the country geographically located north of judea/palestine was identified by the actual events of history as the seleucids of syria, in particular, the reign of antiochus iv epiphanes.
the king of the south, that is, the king of the country geographically located south of judea/palestine was identified by the actual events of history as the ptolemies of egypt.
daniel 11:40-45 prophesied that antiochus (king of the north) would make war once again against egypt, and would die on the coast of palestine “between the sea and the holy mountain”.

I read recently that in the Dead Sea scrolls they found writings where people of that time were also playing around with the numbers of Daniel and reinterpreting them to fit a time line closer to theirs and that how they came up with the idea that another messiah would come about 1 ce.
So john Aquila Brown and the millerites weren’t the first to play with the numbers

The Sufficiency of Christ - Salvation
by JW Answers incan we rely solely on christ and his sacrifice for our sins to be forgiven, or do we have to attribute our own works upon his finished work?
this video gives an explanation of the sacrifices made for israel under the law and what it meant at that time, and the sacrifice which christ made for ourselves under the age of grace today.

Bottom line is if god needs to be worshipped then all he would have to do is one small act of kindness to the world and make it so the world could see this act and most people would instantly worship and gladly love the guy.
You don’t need to test people, sacrifice animals or your kids, kill people to show your the one that needs worshiped etc.. Again most people around the world want to believe want to worship and are more then willing to do it in anyway god wants, if it’s loving and god can prove he’s real.

Cain and Abel
by Freedom rocks ini love this from the atheists book of bible stories.
cain and abel the sacrifices
for some reason, these two boys got it into their heads that god liked gifts.

The original story of Cain and Abel was about two lesser gods trying to win the approval of Enlil (Sumerian god of sky) if I remember correctly.

Court documents reveal Watchtower's tactics in Montana child abuse case
by LevelThePlayingField inthere were numerous objections and claims that watchtower lawyers made to try and get out of being held responsible for their negligence and malice.
here’s the juicy ones:.
montana is a mandatory reporting state, but watchtower lawyers claimed that the law for reporting abuse only applies to “individuals” and they are “corporations”.

I’d the WT was smart they would tell the elders not to discuss these matters out side the congregation except to call the police and advise victims to do the same. And no more calling the branch either, I’m surprised some JW hasn’t sued elders for breaking the clergy privilege.

Concealed carry Dubs
by scruffmcbuff ini spent a considerable length of time living and working in america (would love to imigrate one day).. almost everyone i worked with and made friends with carried a concealed firearm of somesort.
i found this pretty interesting and as an avid firearm fan even more so.. so to our american members here... .
as a jw did you or did you know any practising dubs who carried or if not had firearms for home defence?
-
Crazyguy
I live in an area where hunting is a thing so yes many JWs had guns. Mostly for hunting but yeah a shot gun for bird could easily be used in home defense. Didn’t know any JWs that packed a concealed weapon or open carried.

Sad about the woman interviewed. She tells her folks she was molested and they shun her for she left the cult and is spiritually weak. They really do only care about living a life of a complete fairy tale, the fantasy of being in gods organization. A clean an mostly perfect org and if you are a person that doesn’t fit or is victim then your out of their life because you screw up thier fantasy.
