Why is Jesus Depicted as the Warrior at Armageddon on just a Horse with a Bow and Arrow ?
by RubaDub ini never understood this.
the wt depicts jesus, the all powerful one to destroy evil, being depicted as using a bow and arrow from a horse.
that seems like something from medieval times.. in todays world of nuclear bombs, precision laser directed bombs and advanced military technology, does a bow and arrow really put a fear into anyone?.

Is Jesus depicted as one of the four horsemen I think he is according to JW doctrine? Who’s to say that he really is one of those horsemen?

Crazy ass cart witnessing!
by Crazyguy ini know i know we have all read about it but my mom goes out in service to this crazy cart witnessing crap.
so they go sit by the cart for a half hour then they get back into the car to warm up and the next two sisters take over for a half hours etc.
but then there is at least one brother siting in his car to watch and over see the sisters so he can be like their security.

Its just so unbelievably crazy. 5 people at least counting time babysitting a metal object with wheels and some books on it that no one approaches or even cares about. It’s truly amazing how crazy this concept is and thinking your going to get brownie points from god for sitting next to a piece of metal. Do you think god will give me brownie points for starring at a wall, or how about watching paint dry?

How did the bible fables get started?
by Tameria2001 intoday while out running errands, i was flipping through the radio trying to find something to listen to.
i ended up on some christian type of station, and the guy was talking about the ark, and the flood during noah's time.
personally i no longer believe this fable, because the facts just don't line up.

Oh thought of another one, the Sampson story has similarities to the stories of Hercules. Both slay the same kind of animal with their bare hands and both capture the same animal in another part of the story. It’s clear many of the stories are not the exact same but have similar elements to them of older stories.
Magnum I can’t give you a specific book I have found these from researching and reading many different books.

There’s are about three story’s of the flood found in Sumeria dated before the Noah’s flood story. The story of Job is most like likely taken from a poem called The righteous sufferer, found in Nineveh. Cain and Abel is a copy of another Sumerian tale about two minors gods fighting to get approval from a higher god, can’t remember the name of the tale.
The story of Jericho has similarities to a story found in Ugarit. The baby Moses being put into a basket and floated down a river to be found by a special person is a copy of Sargon birth story.
Similarities between the exodus story can be found related to the expulsion of the Hyksos as well as someone just wrote a thesis on how Ramses tent looks to be very similar to how the tent of the tabernacle was.
A part of proverbs come directly from the writings of an Egyptian named Amenope.
There are several stories about the god named Enki that created man in Sumerian mythology. He calls the first man Adamu. He creates man with the help of a female goddess and the sacrifice of another god of his blood and it’s mixed with the clay. So one can say he made man on a potters wheel from clay. This is also mentioned in the Bible. Enki in another story gets sick and is cured by a female goddess and a mistranslations seems to call her lady of the rib. Scholars think they idea of Eve being created from Adams Rib has something to do with the goddess and this possible mistranslation.
Enki is a wise trickster god that is the god of the earth and was depicted as a serpent. He is also the same god that denied or tricked Adamu from getting immortality. He is also the same god that in every story of the flood before Noah warns man of the impending flood and to build a boat save animals and other living things.
Can’t think of anymore at this time.

Last week's WT - a convoluted trip back to Earth
by neat blue dog inlast weekend's wt study (nov. 18) had 3 count em three biblical references to the christian hope of heavenly resurrection that had to be twisted into talking about earth to fit their doctrine.. 1:.
in what sense do the mild-tempered “inherit the earth”?
jesus’ spirit-anointed disciples inherit the earth when they rule over it as kings and priests.

Oh yes they will inherit the earth about a 6 foot long 6 foot deep patch.

It one wants to be technically correct then they the Jews were in the desert for 40 years so missed out on Thutmose I but as they came into the promise land they would have ran smack dab in to Thutmose III and he was even more of military conquerer then Thutmose I.
Thutmose III not only campaigned through the promise land and into Syria but he did it several times. How he managed to go through that area not once coming into contact by the Jews is something of a miracle. I mean according to Egyptian records they governed over the area known as Israel all the way up through most of what’s called Lebanon and parts of Syria. Yet at the same time the Jews were running all over that area killing and raping and killing some more and know one in Egypt knew about it. It’s as if the whole story and the people and thier exploits were made up.

Yes half banana and I believe the Merneptah Stella was miss translated, the Moibite stone only says house of Omri so does one found in Assyria and the other one is says something altogether different. There was no nation of Israel before 1948. Just Jews and Canaanites.

I did not realize they ever gave a specific date to the exodus. What they don’t seem to understand is that the Pharaoh at the time or the one that succeeded the Pharaoh of the exodus was Thutmose I . He was one of the most successful kings of the Egyptians and expanded Egyptian rule all the way up into Syria even crossing the Euphrates river. So what was the point of the Exodus if the land you ran to was going to be conquered by the same people you ran away from. Jeez Jehovah you screwed the pooch on that one didn’t you.
