Okay I just sent them via their comment form:
You idiots fired a manager for resisting a robbery. I understand and actually agree with your policy, but when the man thinks he is being marched to the back of the store to be killed I think he *should* resist!
You morons, hire the man back with an apology and pay for the days he missed.
I will never, and I mean never, step into your stores.
How frikkin stupid are you?
Send this to corporate. -

Hard to get over: No New System
by confusedjw ini have to tell you something.. i really find it hard getting over the idea of no new system and all that it meant to me.
to be with my children and their children forever in perfect health.. too many days it just leaves me empty.
i just wish i could shake it and enjoy life, but the idea that we just live for 70 years and die kills me.

The quote of the week comes from Seattle Nice Guy:
::Isn't "spirit-directed" just shorthand for "you have to do what we say, but we get to be wrong, and then you have to listen to the new thing we say, but you'd still be wrong for disagreeing"?::
Explain how Jehovah could "direct" them in multiple ways over decades to teach that the "generation who saw 1914 would see the end" - have millions of people teach this for a 100 years and then find out it's not true?
Yet if you were to say "I don't think that the generation doctrine is correct" - you would be branded in the congregation.
If they are "wrong" so often what makes you continue to believe they have "special knowledge" and are directed by God? -

Running Man:
Good stuff. Thank you.
When things go wrong or don't come true as they say it's "We're imperfect is all, never said we were God's channel"
All other times it's "We are God's channel and if you disbelieve in any way you are an apostate" -

Okay - I've read all the responses and this is what I'm going to do short term:
I'm putting in a Dishwasher this weekend. Evenings are too short with the family to waste on dishes.
We are going to take a vacation this winter even though it will tap us out. We had such a perfect one years ago going to St. John's - maybe we'll go there again. But we often talk about how fun and perfect that was.
But I don't want to be 60 and think "Why didn't we take another real vacation while the kids were with us?"
( This is hard as I'm the sort that starts planning for winter in August, showing my son how to do and fix everything around the house for "when I'm not around" and likes to have money in the bank to cover anything that might happen. Pump going or roof leaking or car breaking. ) -

I have an early warning system - called "Faculty". If a Faculty member were trying to reach JWD the conversation would go like this.
www.jehovahs-witness.com is typed into url bar, .05 nano seconds later: Phone Rings.
"IT Dept, may I help you?"
"Hi this is Prof. So and So, Is Netscape down?"
"Um if you mean is the internet down I'll check - nope seems okay"
"I can't reach the server"
"The server - um which server?"
"Netscape"
"Do you mean www.netscape.com?"
"No I'm trying to get to JWD"
"Can you get to other web sites?"
"I'll check - yes"
"It would seem that that website might be having problems"
"When will it be fixed?"
"I don't know, we don't actually control that website"
"Should I call Netscape?"
[pause]
"Yes, yes you should."
"Thanks"
"You're welcome"

My best friend helped my build my addition on the house. He came over night after night and on weekends to help. He's a contractor.
Also a few friends in the cong threw a "building day" for me and we got a lot done. Those are fun and common and productive in this area.
Nicest thing I can remember.

Jez said:
"I have come to the conclusion that I do not want to live forever."
I sure haven't come to that yet. This is it for me. Teaching one grand kid after another to fish, build, learn, think, walk the dog, clean the gutter, trim the trees, and on and on.
I just don't want it to end and I don't want to miss out on seeing my children raise their children.
Perhaps someday this will wear off. -

No kidding. That is dead on. NEVER ADMIT ANYTHING. It's a "certain" brand of truth telling.
