Confessions of an ex-elder

since this forum is for cleansing and healing through sharing, i want to share some confessions of an ex-elder.

how could i have allowed myself to be conned into becoming an elder?

and, after becoming an elder, why did it take me 3 years to finally figure out the hypocrisy of the organization?

Funny thought there is this invisible terminology & sub culture which actual runs & Rules the lives of everyone within the congregations, ALTHOUGH SCRIPTURES Are paraphrased not acted upon maybe sometimes thought about,

guess it leads to the hidden culture of secrecy ,within the ones whom know all within the congregation ,leaving others not really knowing what the hell is going on ,but there all christians under the skin .hierarchy rules yet you are on a need to know basiss, dont do as i do do as i say,No i dont see you as being conned into becoming an elder you wanted position within the congregation ,you either met the profile they required ,as in being a yes man or butt kisser,but now that you have come to your senses welcome to the board,you dont need to kiss butt here

The Prodigal One That Never Went Back...

this is the tale of a young man that had a bright future as a cellist..he was only sixteen and things were looking bright if not for the very one that was supposed to be the head of the household.

we'll call him jack...short for jackass btw.

jack was a violent man, living and conducting himself as an upstanding jw in the eyes of the congregation...he beat his wife, married his 16 year old daughter off to some cretin, mistreated his other daughter, and finally took much aggression out on his sons...well jack did a real good job of beating the hope out of the prodigal one...he gave up playing cello and ran away from home to join the navy during vietnam...the rest of his life was hard and being rather tall, even for a prodigal one, his body got tired after a hard life...congenital lung disease, several bad motorcycle wrecks/suicide attempts imo, he's dying now..on a respirator...to complicate things, his wife of more than 15 years died today of congestive heart failure and complications from open heart surgery....you see, he never went home because there is not one to go back to...his mother died of cancer , jack left his first family and moved on to abuse two others while remaining a jw (not one now as far as i know) and has not been heard from for years.

If You Could Explain To A Witness WHY They Are Wrong, Would You Want To?

and would you personally, be able to make a clear explanation as to why the witnesses are so wrong??

My view for what it is worth is what is the point.. I have tried to speak to my mother and sister, and the excuses are unbelievable.. so wy waste my breath and time, when I can be doing something positive with my kids. When and only then, when my mam and sisters are ready to listen, will I speak to them.

I need to ask a question...

after reading flowers posting about her brother, it really got me thinking (a dangerous occupation with me) lol, what is it about the jws, that when you are in the org, you feel that you are in the'right religion', and then wham, something happens, to make you realise that things are not so rosey as you were first led to believe.. so my point is.. when you leave the 'org' you feel such great relief, as if a burden has been lifted from your shoulders, and that you feel that at long last (as in my case) you can really develop a good relationship with our creator... but, if it were the 'true religion' surely we would feel downhearted and oppressed in leaving, and really we would not want to leave at all, as all things would be made clear to us, and we would feel happy again, but that is not the case.. i hope that this makes sense.

as at the moment my mother and sisters are still not speaking to me, it has now been a month, and the tatic i know, is that by (hopefully) ignoring me, i will come to my senses and return to the fold, and maybe even leave my sweet talking evil slave class husband!!

(yeah right).

Believe it or not, even though I have mentioned my mother and sisters, I have not once been tempted to call them (which is highly unusual for me as we are all close), and I feel not a sense of remorse.

So I feel great. what about you??

Something cool happened...

i had the surprise of my life yesterday when i got home from work and played the message on my machine.

it was one of my five brothers.

all of whom i havent spoken to but a handful of times over the years.

Just to say Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

This is a wonderful board where you know that you are speaking with people who really care, and understand how you are feeling.

I hope that your brother takes time to see a doctor, Mr NW, we thought had Lupus a couple of years ago, but it turned out to be Sarcoidosis, which is very similar, but with treatment and lots of love and care Mr NW is doing ok, so if your brother seeks medical help he will be able to cope, and realise that life does go on.

Our thoughts are with you.

Court case ending..

the judge decided that the jury were incapable of making a decision on the evidence, so he made the ruling of not guilty.

this is despite the fact that dna was available as to the guy who attacked our son, plus loads of other evidence.. our barrister informed us that a major miscarriage of justice had taken place, and that we are appealing, so the drama continues.. our poor son has been unable to work since the attack, so the outcome has been devastating.. oh well, we shall try to keep smiling, just thought i would write about it.. mrs nightwarrior

Well, it is with a sad heart that the verdict for the trial was not guilty for the idiot who attacked my son last year.

How to help my son escape

he asks why i don't go to meetings any more.

he is so concerned and thinks i am in danger of dying at armageddon.

Try to direct him into some type of ( trade ).Just picked up your thread,why not ask your son to do some research on the beginings of the watchtower society as in how they reached there biblical dates,i where & how do the pyramids relate to biblical dates.is astrology really baned within the scriptures,lets study the life of pastor russell & what happend to him allso lets find out about

BETH SERIM and the other house the society built for welcoming back prophets of old ,this will surely open up anew insight of questions for your son,

ask him if he feels that the catholics are worshiping tradition rather than god ?let him explain

ask him what do you think the catholics or protestants are doing wrong within there worship/ whom do they say there prayers through,do they worship god through the pope,as the borg worship jehovah through the organization.

just a thought but it may help in some small way,

Who read the WHOLE bible at least once?

how often did they tell us that we should at least once read the whole bible from cover to cover.. i never did that, why, because i was overloaded with meetings and field service, and my job.. did you??

yes yes yes.

i read the bible in under six weeks ,but i had to read other material as well as i found that it was very tediouse, to read one book constantly, i read it along with an adventure story ,
