i recall that they once advocated arranged marriages.
this would be in the 60's when they were having a phase of dire warnings about the suitability of marriage partners.
during this phase, many odd ideas surfaced.

every one knows( regulars on board) that my jw daughter didnt speak to me for 10 years- the when my melanie was dying in 1999,she heard i was having back problems & having a hard time lifting my melanie...she told that person she would be willing to come & help if she had the money( she lives in montreal i live in ontario) so i called her bluff & sent the money for her fare.she stayed to help my daughter 10 days.
then when my daughter died -3 days after she left.
she spoke to me on the phone said she was sorry- ( all the time she was here religion was not discussed -when christians came to visit mell she would walk out)although she worked real hard while here.

I am glad that your daughter called, and bridges have been crossed, doors have been opened, and hopefully will remain open.
I am in position as that my mam has taken it upon herself not to talk to me, I know that eventually she will call, but she has been writing letters, but very sarcastic and hurtful, but she will get over it I am sure... it is strange not talking to her, but I have to leave the ball in her court, and when we do talk (when?) we will have to agree not to talk religion!!
But know that I am happy for you..

if this date was the closing date1935 , then the significance of extra bodies taking the place of the former chosen ones here on the earth will eventualy be seen as a complete fraud why.
because the organization will eventualy produce an extra 144000 on earth still alive .

ok so it is his anniversary for one year in the forum today.
this morning he got up to find his house rabbit oscar was flopped on the floor, so he took him to the vets but before he got there it had died.
he had the rabbit for 3 years, you know how you get attatched to cats and dogs, well this is the same.

I am so sorry that your rabbit died. Everyone else has said the things that I would say.
We have loads of pets in the past, and now we have two cats and dog, and I dread the day when the inevitable will happen.

its actually the birthday of the queen's mother, juliana, but its still celebrated on that day.
lots of parties throughout the country, and lots of crazy dutch people wearing orange hats or plastic crowns.... crazy people like me:

Yes there are lots here that can relate to your experiences within and after the false organization
Allso gleaned from most storys is that the borg often change there minds as regards there flock , if a person is kept working in a menial job ,with low pay, then they become dissalusioned with society as a whole they then seek solace in being away from the lowly job by by pioneering or auxzilary pioneering therby being dressed in a suit gives some people status not earned in there lowly emmployment given a dress code they feel important ,hence a feel good factor kicks in ,people are actualy listening to there points of view leaving some with a feeling of emppowerment this feel good factor is only possible out in the field ministry, therfore they walck away from there nasty little jobs,are encouraged to work part time leaving them more destitute, ( BANG ) The trap has been sprung they are now pioneers ,moulded into a lazy way of life ,depending upon the congregation for food clothing and handouts years down the line most are hooked just like a fish,with noproper education /no prospects and no hope ,if they left they would loose there meal tickett.what a sad waste.what a way to trap people in the poverty trap , hence keep education away from the masses and they have complete control over mind and body education is neded to spring people out of poverty hence there need to keep masses dumber than dumber
