March? Normally, the WTS says big stuff happens in October. One wonders how this guy got March. Maybe he is using Jesus' words "Pray that your flight may not occur in wintertime".

Armageddon to come next March
by Sassy ini was told by one of my sons tonight when i called to check on them that their uncle (who is still a jw, they are not) had been studying the prophecies and has figured out that armegeddon is going to come next march.
of course i laughed when he said that.. and he told me no really, his uncle has even been in touch with the governing body and they agreed with his findings.. .
now don't get me wrong, this man is very intelligent and i can see him coming up with some reasoning that may sound intelligent, but come on.... what i got the biggest kick out of it, was that he thought the gb was going to take him serious.. first off, i am sure they don't take serious anything someone nobody says to them.. and second of all, this man has been dfd for yrs and only back in recently.. .

They also need to get rid of tie games. The AHL is going to run an trial shootoff at the end of their games next year, and the NHL will monitor that to see how it works. Right now, looking at NHL standings is hard on the eyes and brain with all those ties and then OT losses. They should just have wins and losses and toss the ties.
I will be rooting for the Habs, but mainly to see if they can fulfill my pick as a surprise contender. It may be shades of 1986 when a certain goalie named Patrick Roy helped lead the Habs to a Cup win from out of seemingly nowhere.

My darkhorse pick is Montreal.
After the Cup is raised, the NHL needs to close its doors and restructure. They need a makeover more than Phyllis Diller needs a makeover.
They should come back with 24 teams, a 72 game schedule, no red line, and some real penalties/suspensions to eliminate or at least curtail fighting.

We had it that way in our Hall too. It's actually a contraction of J. Edgar Hoover. The scriptural basis can be found in Isaiah chapter 6, which says that Jehovah's "skirts were filling the temple".

Hawk, your avatar pic of Mr. Burns fits in well with being sneaky.

Can an ex elder help me please
by orangefatcat ini have been reading the publication, "pay attention to yourself and to all the flock',
under the subject of the "proper view of disfellowshipped and disassociated persons.
unit 5 (a), it says, " the principle set forth in jesus' words, at matthew 10:34-38 has a bearing on situations involving disfellowshepped or disassociated relatives.

The key word from that statement in the Flock book may be "Normally". It could well happen that if a body of elders decides that someone is having more association than the elders would deem appropriate those elders might try to turn it into a judicial matter. As some have already responded, it often ends up being a situation that varies depending on locality.

Should Ex's Care For Believing Parents?
by Englishman inso when my dear old mum, who is well into her 80's, is no longer able to care for herself, what then?.
well, i guess we could build a granny-annexe and take care of her.
trouble is, i'm disfellowshipped, so i wonder how the local elders would react to that one.. same with my kid brother, he's an outcast too.. hmm.

Scully: "Good question, e-man. I think it's utterly appalling that the WTS can encourage JW parents to treat their non-JW or ex-JW children like pond-scum, and encourage these elderly folks to bequeath their homes and estates to the WTS instead of their non-JW or ex-JW children, but then turn around and tell these lovely old folks that if they require assistance, they should go to their families (including their non-JW or ex-JW children) before expecting any assistance from the Christian Congregation?". - well put. That sums it up very nicely. They want it both ways.
Blondie: "I have seen congregations scrupulously avoid doing anything non-JW children should do for their aging JW parents. I have seen them call the non-JW children to see what they intend to do to help their parents. The congregation will help older ones fill out the forms for any welfare they qualify for". - when I was an elder, if there was an older person in need of assistance the first thing we did was expect the family, non-jws inlcuded, to care for them so that the congregation would not have to do much of anything to assist.
Mulan: "we care for my elderly (91) JW mother. When she first moved in with us, two years ago, some in the local congregation were upset about it and shunned her and gossiped furiously. It got so bad that I called NY for a "judgment call" we could use for her. The elder I talked to said he was appalled that anyone would be questioning this, and that we were doing the right thing, and that "even if you were disfellowshipped, it is right, Biblically, for children to care for their aging parent's". He also wrote a letter to the local congregation to that effect. It ended the gossip but some still wouldn't visit her". - I remember this experience well, as I'm sure many jwd members do too. Just goes to show how cold jws can be.
