AAWA, like a certain organization we all know and, cough, cough,....love, is going through an early "testing" and "sifting".

WITH LADY LEE IN, A NEWLY REBRANDED AWAA IS GETTING BETTER EACH DAY
by Scott77 inlooks like the awaa people are here to stay.
i sense they have withered the rentless criticism and now have been refined for the long haul.
they have been washed in the previous blood of jesus christ and declared fit to the fine fight.

My Final Goodbye
by Lady Lee ini want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.
i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.
i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

Farkel's post was interesting - the prophets worked as individuals, not as a part of a group.
Aside from that, another person writing a 'Goodbye' thread. I've seen my fair share of them.

WT: Train your kids to shut up - April 2013 OKM

" even if they are too young to understand everything that is discussed, children can be trained to remain awake and sit.
quietly.

This is one area (there are others) were the churches have it all over the jws - they have programs for kids, child care, etc. Witness children, meanwhile, have to sit through meetings obviously geared toward adults.

WT Society Changes Definitions of Words to Control JW's for Their Agenda
by flipper inmy wife and i were discussing this and thought of a few examples of words that the wt society changes meanings on in order to accomplish their own self serving agenda .
the term - generation - definition in webster's new world dictionary : " generation - a single stage or degree in the succession of natural descent ( father, son, and grandson are three generations ) .
the average period ( about thirty years ) between the birth of one generation and that of the next .

In all fairness, the term "generation" is not limited to a 30-year or so time frame as it is used in the Bible. Various Bible dictionaries supply several definitions depending on the context:
topicalbible.org/g/generation.htm
The link won't copy on my computer.
Interestingly, the word can also include the thought of "race" or "class", and some Bible commentators apply the use of "this generation" at Matthew 24:34 to the Jews, in effect saying that the Jewish race would remain "until all these things occur".
Again, I am frustrated in my attempts to provide a link.

Signs - Jesus - Has the Scripture Been Misread ?
by *lost* inmeletivivlon.com - interesting and enlightening theory on jesus and the signs.. wars, earthquakes, food shortages.. what if jesus meant the very opposite ?
jesus said - look out that nobody misleads you.
( jesus warning us as a safegaurd for us not to be mislead about exactly when the time would come ) .

Alan F suggested as much in an essay some years ago, namely, that the events of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 were going to happen anyway, and that Jesus was using them to convey the idea that those occurances should not cause one to follow false Messiahs.

BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME.....let's rebuild!
by Terry inokay we've all beat our chest, lamented and throttled the dead horse of aawa.. time to move on!.
i suggest those of us on j-w.n who care about creating something the right way take the trouble to get the framework going.. let's do the grunt work and get the nattering, debates, naming and organizing already pre-approved so that "others" who have the talent, ability, motivation and resources can move in and turn the key!.
because it was not done before.. there is more wisdom on this discussion board in our vast numbers than there could possibly be in a virtual boardroom with 8 people brain-storming.. that isn't an insult--it is just a statistical fact!.

I wouldn't opt to put TTATT on a T-Shirt. It looks too much like TATAS, which is already the ill-advised (to me anyway) slang for breasts, as in Save The TATAS.
I've always thought that TTATT was a confusing acroymn, T-Shirt or no.
TTATT is a complete non-starter.

All Things Fulffilled In The1st Century
by maccauk11 inall things were fulfilled in the 1st century.it was obvious the messiah was talking to the people in that generation not a generation 2000 years later.. christianity has for 2000 years placed itself in the shoes of those 1st century beleivers and think all things pertainott hem today.when infact none of it does.
the prohecise of the messiah cmae true in the 1st century including revelation which is symbolic, metaphorical apocolyptic language showing all tha thad been done .
the kingdom is here.the king rules and has done for 2000 years.

A woman I know, who is several years older than your friend at age 32 (I'm guessing early 40s) is divorcing and she has four kids. It's tough. There's a lot of appealing things about this woman, but four kids is a tall order. I'd date her casually, but I'm not sure I'd want an instant big family, so I don't think I'd want to get serious - which means, by my standards, no I wouldn't date her. If there's no prospect of an LTR, I'm not going to date a woman just to break up with her eventually.
