  Are we caged lions.

  today, discovery channel let me travel with sir anthony hopkins to the inner realms of africa, on a quest to find the king and queens of the animal world - lions.

  as i was enchanted with the raw power and grace these big cats possessed, i was also given the sight of a lion held in captivity.

  it growled, and roared, and walked in his cage, daring the outside world to meet him on his own terms, without iron bars keeping him in captivity.

  Viv, I think that's a great analogy of what many are going through. I know I am. For a couple of years I felt like I was finally free and becoming somewhat of a lion. But somewhere in the past 14 months I was caged. I don't know what happened. Right now my cage of fear is one of trust and rejection and the bars are triple strength.

  I appreciate you posting your feelings about your day. I truly do wish your tomorrow is much better. Let us know.

  My father is dead

  today i found out that my dad committed suicide, probably on sunday sometime.

  his body was found today and the plano police department called me.

  i am numb and grieving, kind of relieved for a lot of reasons, and very very sad.

  Fear Factor used to control JW children.it is nothing short of child abuse

  i was thinking of this the other day,,,,,,, feeling guilty of putting my kids thru this, even thou it was not my intention at all,,,,,,,all the meetings, all the service , ,, fear was the motivating factor in doing all of the things jw's do every week.. five meetings a week jw children are subjected to hearing in graphic detail of how the birds will eat the eyeballs out of those who die in armeggedon.

  then they are told they better keep on the cramped and narrow path or they will end up the same.

  then they hear all the things god did in the past for those who didnt do what he said,,,,,,,terrified they will be his next victims.

  How so very true! And after what happened to me today, I'm going to try to have a very open discussion with my oldest children, 25 & 26 regarding how they feel about what we taught them up until they were young teens. I had my 90 day med check with my psychiatrist today and told her about my recent discovery of XJW boards. She asked me about how I felt, what it did for me etc. I told her I was relating to experiences & remembering feelings that I had long forgotten, and it was helping. To briefly explain what JWs teach, I described to her somewhat graphically what JW children were taught about Armegeddon. If you were bad, you didn't love god and you will be one of the dead bodies that would litter the busy street below her window. If you were good, and you could never be too sure you were, you had the "priveledge" of cleaning up those dead bodies. I think it scared the crap out of her! She's sending me to a Post Tramatic Stress Disorder assessment. She thinks it's the root cause of my anxiety.
