When I was waking up, I found death and the prospect of being non-existent forever a bitter pill to swallow. Now however, I'm coming to terms with my own mortality. It makes me appreciate life more, friends and family, this beautiful planet and everything that I have and not take things for granted. How lucky am I to win this lottery of life by the throw of a dice - It was to be me and not the countless others who could have been in my place. I hope when the time comes for me to leave, I would have done my bit to make this world a better place.

There is a new letter to elders about Child Abuse
by ttdtt inanyone see that there is a long letter on how to handle child abuse?.

Elders still not required to alert the authorities, this shows total disregard to the wider community. The offender may be dis-fellowshipped but he or she may continue to prey on kids in the neighborhood. Reporting to the authorities and putting the offender in the sex register is the loving and right thing to do. But I guess it doesn't matter since they are "worldly" people.
I also wish all appointed men get DBS checked since for all practical reasons they do work with children.

Watched The Bunker Videos Again On JWSurvey
by JW_Rogue ini watched the bunker videos again and noticed something strange.
even though none of the characters had actually been disloyal to the org when commended for their loyalty they all say "it wasn't always that way".
it was always that way, none of them had actually sinned!

JW TV, this month about evolution
by bohm inthis month the last segment is about evolution.
one is with a sister with a university education in biochemistry who (presumably) teaches at a highschool or public school.
she says that left handedness of amino acids indicates life was created because "if it was a random process half would be right handed and half left handed" (paraphrased).

Watchtower should stop embarrassing themselves with pseudoscience, everything I was told and learnt in the Evolution or Creation book was utterly biased and misleading. When it comes to evidence and scientific method it is very hard to deny evolution.
I wonder if one day the Watchtower will take a similar stand as the rest of the worlds religion and acknowledge that evolution is fact and the creation story was a metaphor.

Sikh man uses turban to save dog from drowning in canal
When Sarwan Singh a devout Sikh saw a dog drowning in a canal he decided to act immediately to save the dogs life. He took off his turban which is a sacred symbol of his religion. You are only allowed to take it off while bathing or at home but not in public which is disrespectful. He made a rope out of it, clambered down, tied it around the dog and lifted it back to safety.
He said “The moment I started taking off my turban, people watching around were shocked. They thought I was disrespecting my faith,” he added, “but what was important at that point was to save the animal’s life.”
A man who truly understands the sanctity of life, the governing body should read this and hang their heads in shame. How many more more lives will have to be sacrificed on operating tables for refusal of blood transfusions? How many more before they realize that life is more sacred than the symbol which represents it?
You can read the heart warming story and watch the video on the link above.

Why is it that the great crowd get tested twice by Satan for an earthly reward while the anointed are tested once and rewarded with a 1st class ticket to heaven? -

I never understood the anti-charity stance. Even Jesus cured the sick & fed the hungry before delivering his sermons. He encouraged charitable works not just to your own spiritual bros & sis but also to be extended to the rest, yes even your 'enemy'- as taught by the parable of the good samaritan.
